Title: Bally(?) 3 reel slot - Help identify?!
Post by: aliciajens on February 18, 2009, 06:57:47 PM
 :103-

Hi all!
Newbie to slots here - we've always just done pinballs...

Hoping someone here can help me - Ken Layton on WebMagic forums suggested I try you all.

Please see the have attached pic of our Golden Nugget slot machine.
It is a 3 reel, 25ยข, 5 payline 777s machine.
There are no buttons on it except the coin return and a "spin" button.

We can find absolutely no manufacturer nor model information on it that I can tell.

It appears to be missing a board or boards as there are several ribbon cables attached to nothing.

If anyone can help with a mfg and model, we can then hopefully find a manual and parts we need to get it going.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
And, please feel free to ask any clarifying questions you may have.
All the Best,
Alicia

ps  I have other close up pictures of the different parts, if anyone would like to view those...

Welcome to NLG Aliciajens! :88-

I believe that it's a Bally E series, but we have others who know much more about these machines.
It might help to post pictures of the inside of the machine and the closeups that you mentioned. You might also want to post a picture of the Mfg. plaque which should be located on the right side of the machine below the handle.
The forum currently limits posts to two attachments, so just post multiple times to attach all of your pictures.

Thank you StatFreak!

There is no mfg plaque or anything under the pull handle.
I can find nothing related to a mfg or model number.
I am thinking of pulling out the reels assembly (all in one 'box') to check behind it better.

I will post a couple of the other pics here now, and then maybe do another post with more...

Appreciate the input!

Ist Pic attached is the whole inside with the door open.
2nd Pic attached is inside of the reels more close up.

and here's 2 more Pics.

Hope these help, I sure appreciate it!

All the Best,
Alicia

1st Pic is a closer up pic of the top glass where the lights would shine through
2nd Pic is behind the top glass, with the light board removed...looks like there should be a board there (there's screw holes there you likely cannot see), and this should show the ribbon cables that have no connections.

Again, Thank you all!
Alicia

Alicia   I could be wrong on this however I'll tell you my experience.  I think these are or were Bally machines and someone gutted them and installed the workings of a Japanese Skill stop modified to work as a American slot. I have seen these type with Tropicana Glass installed. I think one person may be able to answer this, His name is Fred, from Rec room Specalities located in northwest Ohio, I forget the town and I don"t have a Telephone number. Maybe someone out there has that info and can pass it along.

you have a Pashislo in a Bally- someone took a old Bally E/M cabinet (gutted all the wiring) took a Jap Pashislo apart - put all the guts into the Bally.

Thank you Jim and Barry!

Can you help me a little further you think on this?
Is this machine totally ruined - or think I could put boards back into it and getting rolling again?

It just appears as it is missing a main board or boards because all of those unconnected ribbons.

Best,
Alicia

Alicia, I can't offer any tech assistance. It looks like the conversion was a work in progress and how complete it was. Is it possible that those ribbon cables just plug into the MPU thats in the metal box on the left side of the reels? A lot of questions need to be answered, it looks like they kept the original hopper??  There may be questions about voltage and operation compatibility with original and pachislo parts. reconnecting a top box light and the candle would have to also be figured out after it gets operational (don't even know the candle would function since I've never seen a Pachi with one). Then the final thing would be cosmetic, even if it gets going the jackpots and hits are not those displayed on the original glass (then again, is that paytable legend on the right side show all the symbols on the reels?). I found Fred's info mentioned in Jim's post and provided it below. Hope you can work it out.

Hi Dan (and all)!
Thank you for your reply.
Sorry about my lack of response, I am not online much over the weekends...

I don't know what a pachislo machine is - is that the same as a skill stop?

This machine actually doesn't look like changed anything.  Just maybe removed stuff.

The hopper fits like is should and seems to me like it would have been the one that came in the machine.
The characters on the reels *do* match those on the paylines next to them.

The machine came from a "casino games" store in Arizona that apparently went out of business (we got it given to us by a friend, who got some from a relative of a friend - or something like that!).

Also, there is no candle on the top.  It looks as if there never was one.  The cabinet is definitely not new, with chips and peeling laminate all over it - but there is no patched area where the candle would have been, either.
But, of course, if this slot was from the 70's, the cabinet surely could have been redone once, and is now again older and abused looking.

It truly appears as if there are simply boards are missing or something.  There are some screw holes inside the top behind the light board, with nothing there.
We have absolutely no power as those ribboon cables are not plugged in.

I hope I have helped clarify a little.

Thank you for Fred's information - I will try asking him, too.

All the Best,
  Alicia

That's clearly the biggest hopper I've ever seen....wow! Apparently, size does matter! lol
