Hey all,

Wondering what the possibilities would be to create a Odyssey Emulator to at least being able to save the video segments as an archive??  Or could there be something bigger in being able to create a emulator like Mame or Daphine, etc...

Is it even possible to pull game play from the discs???

Thoughts...?

With software, anything is possible - it would just take a lot of work.  My biggest concern would be for the bill validator, coin acceptor, and hopper.  Somehow they would have to be emulated as well.

So how much interest would there be in plugging an Odyssey drive into your Windows PC and playing games within a window?

Player's Edge has already been emulated in mame, it's an open source project, so one could look at the code to see how the validator, hopper and coin acceptor were emulated.  I think a lot of us would be interested in playing the odyssey games on a pc.

A slot collector is like a coin hopper in a machine that never pays out.  they just keep on accumulating assets.

I miss the old WagerWorks where you could actually play some of the original Odyssey games online.  Seems a LOT of casino games from that era were prototyped in Flash.
