Neon, you are correct in saying those maybe the current colors....question has been edited to include the word ORIGINAL. Sorry about the confusion. We are looking for the original, as in oldest...

At least we are past rpm's!!!.   This is also going to be a poser as it is a trick question.   Notice the words oldest and orginal.  May not even be us made games as denom will change!!!.  I think this time we will look a little outside the box!.

Although no one has posted the winning answer, some of you are "Oh, so close!". The 5 denoms we are looking for are 5c, 10c, 25c, 50c, $1....think 1960s...and remember, hints are available for $100 through StatFreak, so if you're planning on buying 4 tickets anyway, it would be like getting 5 tickets for the price of 4!!!

I thought candles were not used on slots until the 1970's?  :103-

OK, now since you brought it up ... I need to know more about these slot machine candles!

What Year did candles start being used on slot machines? I would have to guess Late 70's at the earliest.  :103-
Who came up with the idea of slot machine candles (Baily?, IGT?, Nevada Gaming????)??? :103-
Who set the denomination Colors standards?  :103-

May source showed different.   :79- :79- :79-

http://www.oldreno.net/oldharrahs.htm (http://www.oldreno.net/oldharrahs.htm)

"The light candle on top of each machine had two colored lights, and meters which recorded the number of jackpots. The top light was color coded to the denomination of the machine; red was for 5 cent, green for 10 cent, yellow for quarter, brown for 50c, and blue for $1.
The white light when lit by pressing the "change" button would call a change person, and the colored light would signal a jackpot, and was switched on by the trip levers inside the mechanism."

After my research the 50 cent was the one in question between gold or orange.  After looking at text, data and pictures the gold looked like orange always to me.  There was much conflicting data out there also.  Yes there were candles in the very late 60's.  Neon you were close if I remember as your 50cent was brown but others same.  Perhaps someone was color blind?.

We based our question/answer on our personal experience and stash of Bally EM machines. Now after seeing what Neon found in text, we cannot, in good conscious, dispute his answer of "brown" for 50c. Looks like the brown may have been used on Pace machines (found in some recent searches we did), and that is the reason we didnt recognize it as a correct answer.

Sooooo, in all fairness, we have 2 winners! We'll be giving BOTH 777sizzler and Neonkiss drawing entries this week! Congrats guys!

Well I be Damn!.   That is very nice of you to do.  I still get the gold medal?.  In all seriousness here (if i spelled that correct)  I think Neon had a good beef.  I posted three guess's first was bogas to give me more time,  second was what I thought was spot on,  Third was last and knew it was the "money shot" from just my research.   Got taken out on rpm question-By a good fella which I like.  Smart folks/members here for sure-- :89-.

Ah, heck...
I just like playing.
Roll mine back into the kitty and let's play on. Or donate it back to NLG since I live in one of those states.
(no, not a state of confusion)
