Title: Bally Gamemaker Configuration Problems
Post by: gardenajski on February 26, 2014, 06:14:49 AM
I have a Bally Gamemaker  Gambler's Choice Select-A-Bet Multi-Game Touch-screen Machine. When I turn the machine on, I get the message "Please install clear chip - Minimum & Maximum wager settings must be configured". I install the clear chip in P10, Turn 7 & 8 to ON for DPSW1 and install the board. I power up and get the message "Please Reset DIP Switches - Please Remove Clear Chip - Please Restart Machine". I remove the clear chip, re-install game chip in P10,  turn off 7 & 8. I restart the machine and get the same message "Please install clear chip - Minimum & Maximum...". What am I doing wrong? The clear chip I am using  reads "Bally P10 Game Maker Clear" with the numbers: L27C512X/6198590. I need Help !!!

If you have not checked your battery voltage, you should do that first.  If the voltage is anywhere near 3.6VDC you should be OK, if not, replace the battery, make sure it is a LITHIUM, not any type of rechargeable!

IF the battery is OK, you might check out this link on my web site; http://tinyurl.com/lepp7w8 - The instructions are there for doing the clear, follow them in the order presented (By Bally).  Now, the instructions are for the V7000 Gamemaker and unless someone comes on board that knows your machine (I don't)!, I would give it a try!

Hope this helps!!  Please let me know!

Have you used THAT particular Clear chip successfully in the past on that machine? Sounds like you might have the incorrect Clear chip for your platform.

I checked the battery, it read 3.55. I haven't used this clear chip on this or any machine. I double checked to see that all chips were installed correctly and they were. This board says it is a V8000, does anybody know if this is the right clear chip, if it isn't, which is the right one and where can I get one. Thank you all for your help. Clear chip reads  L27C512X/6198590.

Try the places that sell and or service the machines!  There are many of them out there all across the country

I will check and see of we can help you with that Clear chip. Meanwhile, you might want to just place a WTB (Want to Buy) ad in the classifieds. Someone may respond faster than I will have an answer for you. It shouldn't be hard to find, unless it's rare and I don't know it.  :96-

it sounds like you may have united coin machine software
united coin made it own software for the bally gamemaker
for it's gamblers bonus system
it used the bally debug chip to clear and setup
hope this helps  doyle
