Title: Help Identifying and Operating this machine
Post by: miq599 on March 02, 2012, 07:48:14 AM
Hello all!

I got an old slot machine what i believe to be made by Universal Co.
Please help me to identify and operate this machine.
The machine has 2 tubular / rounded locks on right side. From the inside of the machine i see that behind these locks there are 3 switches. Can anyone give me a hint for what they are used for?
And maybe anyone has an operationg manual available for this machine?

Looks to be one of the early Universals, 1985 maybe. No spin or cashout button, your machine is pull the handle and all wins paid immediatly.
Not sure about the three switches?? The switch in the door next to the lock tells the mpu the door is locked. The white switch with the - looks like black tape on it - tells the mpu the door is closed.
Where are the other switch(es)?

To identify the game and percent payout you need to press the green test button 9 times and record the flashing numbers in the WIN meter. Should be a sequence of five numbers repeating over and over, all starting with the number 9.

thanks, i found out that the switches are meant for meter reading and jackpot reset. There is one more position that has to be discovered :-)

Test 9 shows:
