I just gat a s2000 machine in and it had on the display "out of service" so I cleared and the set the denom. It does not have a coin compairitor but does have a ticket printer, if that even matters. After the clear and set denom procedure, the machiine came up fine, went through the normal initialization and got to the "insert coin" and was ready to play, but even upon power up the bill acceptor did not cycle like it should nor is the bill entry light on either. Any ideas here? Coul I have missed something during the set denom/configuration settings?

Thanks,

David

Try running the auto config under #4 menu. I think it's 4.3.

Did you get message that auto config was in process?  Make sure you are pressing the spin and not the max spin button.

BV enable or config for the most part does not need a key chip to do it.

.. but even upon power up the bill acceptor did not cycle like it should ....

I know on a S+ the BV will cycle on power up even if there is no MPU. Doesn't the S2000 work the same way (BV at least cycles as long as it has power)?

Here are a few pics of the top and bottom of 2 of the validators, looks like these is a 32 pin chip missing?

here are the other 2 bill validators that are not working, they do not have a large socketed chip in the botoom like the previous ones.

What you have here are both flashed and eprom type transports.  What you also have are Canadian.  The fact that they don't cycle after boot tells you one of a couple of things.  They either have a bad head or transport, and / or they might be fixed by adding the missing eprom or paying a Vendor to re-flash them.  The smart move however might be to work out a sale or trade with a member like Wayne (A69Mopar)....I hear he likes Moosehead beer.

... Wayne (A69Mopar)....I hear he likes Moosehead beer.

He's also partial to In-N-Out, or In-N-Oot, as he would say.   big burger  rotflmao rotflmao rotflmao

Not to  Hijack this thread, but Wayne remains undefeated as the only person I've ever known in over 17 years to EVER get an incorrect order at In-N-Out.. and he did it on his FIRST TRY!! arrow
Apparently, he's really good at it; his wife wasn't even surprised when we told her. However, I was when he discovered it. Cry Laughing Cry Laughing
