Since you've determined that the reel isn't the problem, assuming that those same reels work in slot 1 and/or 3, I would try open and close the main door a couple of times to see if the reels will spin up and if you get to an insert coin status on the display.  Power cycling the machine would be a good idea too.  With the power off, reseating the MPU wouldn't hurt.

Turn jackpot key?  Can't hurt.

Interesting.  Was the reel removed or installed while the power was on by chance?  Do you have another MPU that could be tested?  Might try reseating reel cable connections too.

After Jason's suggestion, try swapping the harness connections between reels one and two (with power OFF), and see if the tilt follows the reel or the harness.

Well you shot my idea in the foot.  What happens if you put the bad board in the good machine ?

Are you going to loose some settings by switching two boards between two machines, I'd say pretty good chance you will.

well i did the swap and didnt loose anything but the secure enhanced validation id for SAS.

all my progressive info, meters asset ID, multi denom,  etc did not change

the biggest thing i was worried about was the meters since i poll them with sas and record it, even auto poll it and record when the cash box is pulled for my drop. just to see if everyhting matches up. of course the only thing every in cash box when i pull it is about 100 redeemed tickets lol

OK I see you installed a spare board. When you installed the spare, did you use the Base and Game chips from the bad board ??

I think that Buzz is trying to get you to swap the eproms from the bad board to the good board stir the pot / get cooking to see if the problem follows the chips or not.... Gotta give him credit +1 (Karma, or whatever) as that is much easier than dragging anoth machine out at this point. yes

i still find it strange that your mpu would go bad just by pulling the reels out.....i pull my reels out all the time on my s2k to clean them....as long as your machine is off when you pull them.......
