I have a friend call me with a problem with a machine he got from me.. He said they were playing it and both door displays went out as well and the bill acceptors lights? I was told they turned it off then back on and it came back on.. It happened again a little while later but now it doesn't spin up the reels or have any door displayed in the credits or win meter or the left side display where you set the machine up.. I was told that it looks like all the MPU lights are on.. I need to go take a look at the machine but was wondering what might be wrong with it? To me it just sounds like a loose connection, but should I take an extra MPU, I/O boards, and a power supply that goes behind the reels with me? He lives about an hour from me and I'm hoping to get it working in one trip.. This is a S2000 running if I remember right a 502 MPU. The Game is DD Haywire running 363 game chips and is setup with multi denom.. I'm looking for some advice from the experts here before I make the trip, maybe something I can have him try too before I take the drive..

Thanks Gary

Take all the parts you mentioned above. I was going to say door IO card, but the BV door plate doesn't run through that, so itcould be a loose power supply or MPU board from being rattled during shipping. The thing here is you want to go prepared for anything

are all the lights on on the board or 2 amber and one green? If they are all on and the red light is blinking then the board, or possibly one of the eproms on the board is probly loose.

Im kinda thinkin like cowboy games...why not have him pull the MPU and slide it back in and have him call you back with results? Simple things you could have him try before driving an hour. Or try troubleshoot over the phone.

Sorry I never got back to follow up here.. It seem after a few long phone calls the problem from what I could tell by his description was that the connection on the I/O on the outside of the MPU was loose. After checking  few other plugs when he powered it back on everything was working fine. That was a week ago plus, so I guessing he's happy and the DD Haywire games working just fine. Thanks for everyone's advice.  Hail
