Hey guys,

I'm doing a couple custom designed kits for a customer with some S2000 vision machines, and it got me thinking... Can I convert a regular S2000 into a vision model? Other than the obvious screen and glass kit, what else would be required? I'm sure theres some extra circuit board controllers and wiring involved. I have S Plus and S2000 in my home, but never had a vision ready model. Can it be done, and if so, how easily? Some of my custom kits (breaking bad, big bang theory, etc) and some of the kits I have in the works (walking dead, family guy) would look great if I could get images and/or video that match the theme to display on a vision screen in the top glass. Thanks again.

I would guess it would be easier and less expense to purchase a Vision. Here is a picture of a 9" I had years
ago that was called a Vision Ready. You would have to find a frame with a light like this and probably a harness
or two and program your cards for the monitor. Some are located in the middle of the top box. The screen is hinged
on the right side connected to the cabinet. The two long horizontal shafts was my volume pods I mounted on the frame.

Thanks for the pic. Hmmmm... sometimes I stumble across screens with frames fairly cheap. I wonder if anything else is involved other than the harnesses... I would think so, since whatever is programmed to interact on the video screen has to be tied into the game somehow... I'm guessing it's more involved than just plugging into the netplex board. Since I'd probably only use it for videos and pictures (unless it is fairly easy to change the images used in whatever interaction it may have), it might be easier and more cost effective to buy a $70 android tablet and mount in that area with a video playing on it on a continuous loop. The problem would be everytime it gets turned on or off, it wouldn't start playing automatically... and the screen wouldn't shut on and off with the machine's power switch, since the tablet would just go to battery power.

Sounds sort of a little project I was working on a few winters ago...haha
If you're using some sort of a tablet or cheap old laptop for a topbox screen, just set the "wake-up" options to start playing your pre-programmed pictures, gif's or video's to turn on when your machine is powered up?

You can pick up monitor and wiring easy. The problem is putting video on the rf card and having it interact with hits. Been told it can't be done. I tried with my Elvis Slot. Ended up putting a portable DVD player in it and using the remote to start it. Just plays a DVD no interaction with reels or anything. Pretty cool playing Aloha from Hawaii Concert while playing. I have changed the reel glass and installed progressive. http://www.youtube.com/v/QUC4u1qqlQA&rel=0

Very cool. Is the sound just coming from an internal speaker in the portable dvd player, or did you tap into the machine speakers? (or another external speaker solution?)

Cool, might have to give it a shot the next time I print a custom kit for myself. I'm wondering if using a cheap $50-$60 android tablet would have enough volume, and if not maybe using a line out cable from it and splice directly into the s2000 speaker wires, pre-amp side... I've added sound modules to skill stop machines that way and it worked... But there was no amp involved. I simply used a recordable greeting card module, cut the mini speaker off of it, and wired into the existing sub woofer wires at the bottom. Never would have thought that a greeting card sound module could get that loud... It matches the volume of the other sounds in the pachislo.
