I would like to thank Tilt   applause applause for His responese to my topic on MB error codes as He saved me alot of future headaches  Duh! Duh!. He said to remove the 3.6V nicad batteries as they are not needed for home use. Their only function is to keep alive "telltale circuitry" that will log security events if the doors are opened when the power is off. So I started to pull all of the S2000's boards and posted a few pictures of what I found. I removed the battery and cleaned with a water and baking soda mix. to neutralize the acid. then I sprayed the area with a electro contact cleaner and dryed.

Again Thanks  TILT  Hail

I found them at Mouser for a decent price.  And now that I know I don't need them any more...I have 3 brand new ones here you can have for free.

Nice work Dan, you saved that board from certain failure! yes

Dan #2, The real time clock is backed up by the lithium coin cell battery, so the machine still maintains the date/time without the nicad battery.
