Hello all!

Well it's that time again and just over a month away!

The Chicagoland Fall Coin-op Show will be held at Pheasant Run Resort on November 12th, 13th and 14th 2010.  As usual, the NLG pre-meet will be on Saturday the 13th at the McDonald's just to the west and north of the convention center starting at about 7-8 am.  Below is a map of the area and another of the resort/convention center and McDonald's.

I'm not going to make it to this one, but a couple of notes for anyone considering going:

- The NLG pre-meet is a must-do.  If you you plan to go to the show, be sure to plan to attend the McDonald's parking lot meet.

- The Pheasant Run Resort is really expensive to stay at.  Consider some other nearby hotels that are significantly less expensive per night.  I stayed at the Comfort Inn & Suites, Geneva, IL (http://www.comfortinngeneva.com/) which was mid-priced and very nice.  If you don't care which hotel you get, there are a handful of St. Charles/Geneva hotels on Priceline and Hotwire at decent prices.  Just make sure to isolate your search down to the St. Charles area to avoid getting assigned a hotel closer to Chicago.

Sorry to hear you won't make it, knagle. You know you will miss all the camaraderie.
 
My wife and I will be at the Super 8 Friday Nov. 12th. It's not fancy but clean and we have Muffy (our little dog with us). Planning
to bring a vision machine to sell or trade up on a 5-reel or touch screen machine.

I have lock/roll i games I would trade i,m 30 miles east of i 77  in sw va

I looked at coming down but it doesn't look like its dooable for me.
On points I need to leave Wed but can fly back Saturday night (too long)

Its $708/ea if I opt to pay for it. Since I was considering taking my son (now 16) $1400 + is a lot of change.

I have seen the show once and was not all that impressed I was more interested in visiting Chicago Lands Famous McD's pre party.
Not that seeing ya'll isn't worth it but I can get to Vegas for 3 nights (including Hotel) for $549 and have money left over for buffets and hookers.
Wife said no to that too.

Maybe she will let you go if you promise to stay away from the buffet.  :97-

we also planned on going  but we have games in 2 auctions that weekend and they are only a 30 min ride , maybe we,ll head north in the spring

I was down that way about 2 months ago and it looked like they were building a store where the parking lot was. It was all fenced off. Not quite sure what was going on there but that lot might not be there anymore. Don't know if GOOGLE MAP shows a current picture or not, I doubt it. I'm thinking about bringing a Gamemaker with 6 fully loaded boards with trays, and 6 dedicated games with Deluxe sound board & harness to trade. I'm looking for an EVO.

if someone is from that area could you check it out , might have to change location, , maybe just eat at mds and go to the parking lot acrros from the show to open up the vans,  :103-

From Google Maps - it does look like some of the parking lot is fenced off - not sure how old the pic is....hmmm....

It is the parking lot for Walmart - so they can't fence off the whole thing - we just might need to move over a little :)

I talked to a guy from work and he thinks that they are remodeling the WalMart store and he said they had about 75 overseas containers stored out in the lot, It's either that or Bunnyslots is planning on buying a ton of machines from Dansgames.   :103- :94- :wa

i have a bally 6000 that i will bring to the show ,working dual progressive no coin in or hopper set to hand pay but does have printer, very clean machine  has wba that takes new 5s ,    1st 350.00 takes it

Retired Rabbit-Shooting Police Officer Loses Case
Bednarek Argued Police Used Excessive Force

MADISON, Wis. -- An 89-year-old retired police officer who was arrested after sticking a pellet gun out his car window to shoot rabbits has lost an appeal arguing that excessive force was used to apprehend him.

Raymond Bednarek, of Oshkosh, sued the city after he was arrested, arguing that police used excessive force. The 2nd District Court of Appeals on Tuesday affirmed a lower court's ruling rejecting Bednarek's lawsuit, saying police responded appropriately.

Bednarek volunteered to help his condominium's problem with rabbits by shooting them with his pellet gun. He was arrested after someone called police when they saw Bednarek sticking his gun out his car window trying to get in a good shooting position.

Bednarek said he didn't hear police tell him to exit the car. He was pulled out and put down on the grass and handcuffed.
