Title: looking for a tech to fix my IGT
Post by: gatorfan on August 31, 2009, 12:43:42 AM
Hi,
New here and need some help.  I was looking for a company or tech that repairs IGT Video Poker Machines...really need someone that does house calls.

A little background on the machine:
Been sitting in a garage for about 8 years.  It was working, but now when I plug it in I hear it power up but no pic on the monitor and no sounds.  It was moved several years ago from one garage to another so I'm not sure if something happened in the move. :25-
It's a 4 of a Kind Bonus Poker Model #3779C, Desc. PE + DI, manufactured 9/91, serial number 240005
This is all the info I have on the game.  I don't know where the key is to open the machine and am hoping that someone on this board
can give me some direction.  My grandmother loved playing this machine and wanted to get it repaired to play again, so any information you
can give me would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in the DFW area so if anyone out there is a tech and does house calls, I'm in the Frisco, Texas area.

Thanks in advance,
(See profile for email address)

PE+'s are quite common. I am sure you will get some help - despite being a Gators Fan.

I removed your email address from open post so the web crawlers don't get a hold of it.
Various web engines troll the internet collecting email addresses that are then sold to spammers.

Welcome to the NLG forum.

In order to do some troubleshooting, you'll HAVE to get inside the machine, which means either finding the key or drilling out the lock.  Even if you find someone to do a housecall, they'll have to do the same thing.  If nothing else, you can save yourself some money on a housecall by finding the key or drilling out the lock before you have a tech go to your house.

If you can post a picture or two of the machine, we can point out which lock needs to be opened (so you don't drill out the wrong one).

Those are at least easy locks to pick as opposed to the round security locks that need to be driled.

I'm not a slant top expert, although I'm sure someone who owns one will chime in soon, but I can help to rule out one of the locks:

The one that I "x"ed out is the jackpot reset keyswitch.  It uses a common key and is a switch to reset handpay conditions and also is used to set up options in the menu of the game.  If you're unable to locate the keys for the machine, you'll be able to easily order a replacement for that keyswitch from one of the vendors here on the site.

Can anyone help to identify which of the other two locks is used to open the cabinet?
