Title: New CRT Monitor in PE+ 1492 chassis - Pic upside down?
Post by: danatlvc on April 11, 2012, 12:23:04 PM
Hi, I just purchased a new old stock Monitor for a Ceronix 1492. It works grEat, but the pic is upside down? I know there's a simple solutio, but don't know how. Any suggestion would be appreciated - Thanks
Is it possibly the color wire on the monitor plug are in a different color sequence on the plug? Thanks

Loosen the yoke and spin it 180 degrees

I think you can just flip the wires on the the top of yoke itself.  At least I could on my 20" ceronix.

You need to reverse either the red and blue or yellow and brown. One will fix your problem. The other would fix side to side like your looking in a mirror. I had to do it years ago but I don't remember what ones I switched. You could call Ceronix they should be able to tell you for sure.

We used to carefully cut those plugs in half with a hacksaw, and then just turn both halfs around 180 degrees and plug them back in.  It worked and it was a quick fix.  Not too professional looking, but our job was to get the machine running as quickly as possible. However your 1003jpg pic shows the pins closer together than I remember, so that would have to be a very precise cut....
Someone once made an adapter for sale that would do the same thing.  Don't remember who, but they might still be available.

You'll have to switch the other two also, because it is already in reverse image according to your pic.

you know i am having the same issue witha 1493 but my monitor does not have those wires on top like that there is simply a white plate with a Yhc adjustment on it Yv adjustment ?? im guessing on mine that goes directly into the board

good to know im not the only one out there that stil has to fix these old things lol
