Title: Universal DBV145 to DBV200
Post by: startek2 on August 01, 2012, 05:54:23 PM
I am trying to figure out how to upgrade this old universal ultra series slot to take the new bills.  I know the 145 head is done, but what would i need to put a DBV200 head in it?

the model in it now is:  JCM DBV-145-HH-6000-B644  DC 12V

thanks!!

To my knowledge there is no JCM upgrade for the Ultra Series. When Universal went out of business JCM decided no upgrade was worth their effort for the HH.

With that said, I have recently seen old Uni Jumbo machines with BV's that are upgraded to take newer bills. But I believe they have MARS validators.

The Ultra uses a GL-5 protocol. So if you could find another validator with an up to date GL-5 protocol you may be able to install it with some customization.

Thanks for the info.  Is there any list out there or chart of some kind that lists what all these protocols are?  I am getting up to speed on slot machines so I am soaking up as much information as I can..
