Title: Looking for a wiring diagram for the Bally E1000/E2000 door switch problem
Post by: Amachanic on August 25, 2011, 02:37:12 PM
I'm in need of a wiring diagram that covers the front door switches and the door hinge switch for Bally's E1000/2000 machines. My 4 reel nickel machine will operate correctly using test 8, but not if the door is closed and locked? With the door closed the machine accepts coins and will spin the reels, but they will not stop and no code is displayed? I've changed the cherry switch at the door lock and the machine will stop any test when the door is closed. Then the code 50 will display as normal. The only thing I see is that the wire colors at the cherry switch are reversed compaired to my other machine, but if I reverse them on this machine is causes other problems. One wire is on com., the other on NC. So if any one has a wiring diagram or suggestion would be helpful.

Thanks , Gary

Look at the kick switch for the spining and not stoping.

I've changed the kick switch and adjusted with a known good one. Like I said the machine operates as normal running test 8 ?

Yes that it. Show different boards but nothing on machine wiring that I'm looking for.

Since the machine is an E series it has not real security for a door closed function.
By-pass the door switch and see if the machine will play with the door open as you say.
If it does, then you have a short in the door harness. Move it around and see where it drops out.

That the first thing I tried bypass the locks cherry switch but no luck. If I remember right if I did that it wouldn't work running test 8 or by coin

How did you by pass it?
manually closing the switch or moving the wire from NO to NC?

also some machines have switches in both hinges.

I removed the wires from the lock switch and put them together. This machine only has the lower door switch and cherry switch at the door lock. There is one other cherry switch at the lever for the coin reject lever above the coin mech.. Looks like one wire has been removed from that switch and capped off. I've never seen one there before on Amy of my other machines?

OK.. I had a chance to work on this machine again today. I checked for and grounded or shorted wires today. I found a few bad solder connections on the coin switch and fixed those. when I put it back together I still have the same problem.. :58-  If I coin it up with the door closed the reels will spin but not stop, and the reel reader lights stay lit, but if I run test 8 the machine will coin up and the reels will stop and the reel reader lights go off.. The problem I see is that the machine is not registering when a jackpot combination is hit. At that time the win meter show how many coins were played, but it doesn't show what my jackpot payout would have been, just zeros :103-.. I did change and adjust the kick switch but I don't remember if I changed the arm switch  :103-, or could I be looking at a problem with the reel reader control board?

Thanks Gary
