Title: S+ Error code [63] with an SP1213
Post by: stayouttadabunker on March 09, 2011, 02:53:49 PM
How about this?  :72-
After all these years, this is the FIRST time I ever got this error code [63].  :285-

Anyways, in the PSR for the SP1213 chip, it states that
the error code [63] is : "Card cage and Main Door Open"   :97-

wow! I didn't know that I'd run into this!
Anyways, now I gotta find the pins on the motherboard and
bypass the bloody card cage switch because I KNOW my optics are fine.
It's kinda of hard to do when there's no actual "switch" installed in the machine.... :208-

Attached below is a terrible photo I took with a "keyfob spy cam"...lol
You can't even tell if you're taking level photos with the tiny thing. Arghh!
But it will show the error >>>

Okay,
I've researched the S+ manual and found that the J2 header on the motherboard is as follows:

Pin#1  24Vac Hot
Pin#2  24Vac Return
Pin#3  B GND
Pin#4  B GND
Pin#5  Card Cage Detect
Pin#6  Card Cage LED

Do I jump across Pins #4 and #5 on the J2 header?  :129-

Bunker      that signal from pin 16b  goes to R6 on the motherboard then onto J-2 pin 6   don't have the schematic in front of me for the motherboard so I can't say what that means.

Thanks Jim,
I just made a small Molex jumper and stuck it in the J2 header.
I configured the jumper as:  Pin #4 to Pin #5
and the error Code [63] went away!

:136-

Back in business!  :267-

What software are you running in it that it's even looking for a card cage closure?  Duh, SP1213 like you said in the thread title and your first message.

That'd typically be reserved for the WAP games like Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and whatnot...  Very odd.

Wait til you check out the PSR for it! lol
It's chock load fulla stuff!  :91-

BTW

Works only with a 10MHz MPU board.
I tried it first with a 16MHz MPU and got crazy reels.... :96-
