I have a Gamera High Vision Pachislo with issues. The LCD screen now lights up bright white and I get a NO SYNC error message. Prior to swapping out parts from another Gamera, the LCD did not light, but the game played with a dark screen. Now the game doesn't play but the screen lights up bright white. Does anyone know where I could send the boards in question for testing and repair ? Does anyone know what the NO SYNC message means ? If I am getting the error message on the LCD screen does that mean that the LCD screen is good ? Does anyone have parts available ? I would even buy the LCD assembly complete to solve the problem Scratch Head.
Thanks,

While we might have someone on NLG who knows about your Pachislo, you will probably be able to get more help from the pachitalk.com forum.

Honestly, it is not really worth it to fix them as getting replacement parts is hard to say the least. I am familiar with the model you are describing. I have seen that title for 250-350 from several sources. Do this: sell that one as broke and take that money and buy another Gamera (I am planning to get one soon!) I like the music and the lights on it for the bonus round.

NO sync is probably a message from the LCD screen itself that it is not getting a Sync signal from the gameboard.
The fact that you can see this message probably means the screen is ok but the main game board is not sending out a signal.

The transformer in the unit and this the power to the LCD screen sounds like it is working just fine.

The first thing I would check is that the main board is getting a good power source - if your lucky this could be as simple as a fuse.
Not to sound pestimistic but if its not a power issue I would be more inclinced to say your mainboard is pooched/fried/bit the biscuit/etc.
There is not a lot else inside these machines to go wrong.  They were built with 1 game in mind and are not a universal platform in which games can be swapped in/out.
The Japanese regulate that the game must be retired after 2 years of service life. So they are not built with logevity in mind.

I am always the optimist so www.pachitalk.com might be a better source for parts and help on this.

If you are looking to cut your losses you can post a WTS (Want to Sell) your machine in our classified ads. People occasionally buy the chasis for $25-$35 and use them as a base to build a PC driven version of the Masque slot games or alternatively a E-jukebox.

HI....YOUR LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY IS MOST LIKELY BAD...WHEN THEY GO BAD THEY TURN SNOW WHITE WITH GRAY OR RED LINES THROUGH THEM OR TOTALY GRAY WITH LINES.....THEY ARE VERY SENTITIVE TO TEMPUTURE ALSO.....SO ITS NOT A POWER PROBLEM IT SEEMS IN THIS CASE....YOU WOULD NOT GET A TROUBLE CODE FOR THE LCD SCREEN EITHER

The issue was the video power supply. We changed it out and it worked fine. Thanks,
