I was referred by Ken Layton from a post he made on klov. I was looking for some information on the IGT S+ platform and he was kind enough to point me in this direction. Thanks to Ken.

I recently bought 2 Bally 5500's and 1 Bally 1099 EM.  I wanted to get as much information as possible to maintain and see how they worked.  I previously belonged to the old forums and found them through a "Google" search for "Bally Slot Manual".  Thank you to everyone that has provided so much information for me.  I really appreciate it.

We're glad to hear that the site was helpful. Go ahead and get that second machine, but be careful -- once you have two machines they will multiply in the dark and you'll soon find yourself with a room full !  :72- :72-

I was curious to find out if there are other people out there that loved playing and owning these machines like myself, with a wife that thinks I have been over exposed to the bright lights, bells and spinning reels and in need of immediate therapy!

Sounds like you are a pledge to the SMAA

Thats Rick Hunters Slot Machine Addition Anonymous......  :72-

We are all addicts here, Rick was just the first one to come out and call a cherry a cherry.....

How many machines do you have ?  you need to have space for 3 or more ..... even if you don't have 3 now they tend to multiply in the dark.

We have a great thread on Game Rooms where you can post some pictures....

You will also find some great threads on Toppers, Progressives, lighted bill stickers and tons of other things to pimp out your slot.....

Welcome to the forum.

I only have 3 machines at the moment. I have a 3 coin Jackpot Stampede Deluxe, a 3 coin Double Diamond and a 2 coin Double Dollar. These are all machines that I have hit Jackpots on in either Reno, South Lake or Feather Falls Casino. I have also hit 2 second awards in Las Vegas a Top Dollar and Casablanca Mesquite a Triple Hot Peppers and Top Dollar. My wife said the second awards do not qualify for ownership. I beg to differ, however she vetoes me without debate!

You can always get game kits so you can change the themes out. That way you can go for the top awards.......
After purchasing 40 some game kits, I have now ventured into Video Poker as my forth machine.....

It is quite addicting  -  I purchased my first in October at the York PA game show.   I will be getting my third the end of March  -  I wouldn't though if it wasn't for this site.   I found it just searching around google for help.    This summer I'm planning a road trip to western OH to pick up a video slot.. If my wife doesn't throw me out of the house first.   But to be honest I now enjoy playing my own machines more than going to the casino.

Oh -   I never was on the old site and often wonder what it was like. -   When I started posting there were only a few members and posts -

Title: Re: How Did You Hear about Us?

The inital forum started off with about 17 members. The first 13 being Joey and his extended family soon followed by Cactus Jack, myself, Idesign, and Ozzy.
CJ and I met through a different forum that was not too helpful to non-casino workers. The family grew exponentially for the next couple of years.
I am quite proud to say that we are the number 1 site on the web for home ownership of gaming systems. We are also highly ranked in the generalisms of the arcade world but I will concede that theere are some really good resources out there as it pertains to platform-specific like Pin Ball repairs etc. Often if you ask a question here and it can't be directly answered someone will direct you to where you can get the answer.

I will defer to Statfreak to give us a accurate account of how many members and posts we had on the old ite.

The new forum is not much different than the old one. The old forum software became incompatiable after the the hosting software was upgraded by the ISP.
Due to the age the database not much was able to be migrated to the new site. Joey tried to create accounts for a number of people but it became obvious that it made more sense to get everyone to re-register than to get into the business of handing out passwords and correcting spelling mistakes in peoples names and handles.

The moderators and administrators tired to copy/paste over as much content as made sense. Then the old was eventually comitted to DVD archive.....

We appreciate everyones contributions and participation.

...

...

I don't have exact figures.

We pruned the membership every so often of those members who never posted and spammers, so the count would run anywhere from around 1100 to 2000+ members at any given time. The last member ID given out on the old site was #9851 (almost 10,000 signups). More practically, we actually had about 400 or so active members (more than 5 posts) and about another 400 or so that had posted at least once.

The highest post count ID was just over 63000, but many posts and some threads were deleted, both accidentally and purposefully.

<ADD>PS: The highest topic ID was just under 8000.

Anytime I am going to spend a big chunk of change on something, I do a ton of research. It must be the Scotsman in me! :72-
I found this site while checking out all the sites selling slots. And boy am I glad I did!!  Other than a gun site or two, a couple of blacksmiths sites and a Magicians site, I rarely post anything anywhere.
This place has been a Godsend to me.  The wonderful people here are eager to help a raw beginner like me (and put up with our repetitive stupid questions).  that is somewhat rare these days! :3-
It has made my journey into the world of slots most enjoyable.  I have learned a lot since joining here and can say I haven't had this much fun on a board in a long, long time! :89-
Now if  I can figure out where to find the money, and the room :30- for a second machine, I will be really rolling along.

I happened upon KLOV while googling Bally model 809 and decided to join their forum. I posted some questions, but after a few hours I had no response. While waiting for help I searched their forum. I found a post which included a link to NLG. In the NLG forum, I noticed many posts were being responded to courteously by NLG members. I joined the NLG forum and received correct advice within hours which solved my problem. The members on the forum are very knowledgeable and seem eager to help. I plan on being here a long time and hope to assist others in need, when I learn the trade.

google search for igt aristocrat... the ONLY place that had any info was NLG.... so, as I began to fix the old girl, people like OP Bell were terrific!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I only hope that I can help someone out with some of the things I have learned or read!!!!!!!!!!

bob in phx.

an additional thought.. its really good to know that there is a slot shop, somewhere, that has techs that know what they are doing. I have been into and in fact worked with 2 slot shops here in PHX and they were really just junk pushers. The would buy the slots, blow the dirt out, windex the front, put a huge price tag on them and then sell them. No check out or anything. If the slot didnt work, the customer was never really given any true help. Sure, they replaced a few slots under warranty, but with a 30 day warranty, they didnt have much to worry about... The repairs after that were to strip parts from slant tops and send the machine back out. The real kicker is that they were in business for more the 15 years... so, as I stated before, its nice to see a shop with a real service dept!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I truly didnt think any slot dealers did that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good evening to all!
Sorry, I'm stating "good evening" because for me it is already 9.45pm!
I'm a frenchie and very new to the community of video slot machines users... I just bought 2 IGT; 1x IGT Gameking 044 and 1x IGT iGame+ Enchanted Unicorn still based on 044 boards. Both of these will be fit with a 19"TFT display! I'm happy for now and I'm expecting these to be delivered some time mid-October at home. Patience then!
So, by seeking on the net to grab some information about IGT iGame machines, I found this site that really helped me to understand how these machines run... Thanks to everyone for all the posts and good advises we can read through each discussions.
So let's all continue your daily contribution because newbie like me really needs this!
I hope that one day, I will be able to help other persons as well...
Kind regards to all.

A friend bought a Universal Slot that wasn't working at a garage sale.  When he called a local guy that repairs slots, he said it was a throwaway.  I got on this forum and checked it out.  I knew nothing about slots before this, but I'm hooked now.  I learned more than I could have imagined in the past 4 days.   Tomorrow I'll start working on refurbishing this machine.  I will post pics as I go.

Found you while researching IGT S-Plus/2000 machines.  Picked up my first machine yesterday.  Was actually wanting a 2000 but I like a deal and a challenge.  I found a very nice (on the outside) DoubleDoubleDiamond S-Plus sitting on a casino stand for $300 at the pawn shop.  The bad news is it appears to be an eBay machine as it has been hacked.  Will be posting to the S-Plus forum soon!  Thanks for being here!!

I found this site while educating myself on video poker machines. A friend asked me to look at a broken video poker machine she had picked up somewhere. I had never even seen one before but after determining that the power supply and video section were working I guessed it was probably a matter of bad/dirty switches and incorrect wiring. I fixed everything that was visibly broken or tested bad. I realized not only did I have no idea how to it was supposed to work but the ID plate was missing. I was going to have a hard time finding any documentation on it with out even knowing who made the thing. I have learned a lot since I found this site and I'm grateful to those of you who have contributed to my education.  :88-
