Title: Colorado couple denied $31K slot jackpot due to malfunction
Post by: knagl on October 14, 2011, 06:54:31 AM
A Denver couple thought they won over $31,000 on a Bally U-Spin Cash Spin slot, but just got informed by the Colorado Gaming folks that the touchscreen malfunctioned, causing the machine to malfunction.

The story and some video:

None of us were there to see it happen, of course, but I do find it odd that a touchscreen malfunction could result in a machine showing a jackpot was won.

Is that CDG report public?
All I could find Googling was the Gaming Revenue for the 18 casinos in the Blackhawk area.
I guess they made over 51 million...in July alone? Where do the people come from? lol
Look at the ratio of penny games versus quarter machines...amazing considering people
spend way more than a quarter at these penny machines... :97-

The casinos are pretty small over there...in an old gold mining gulch >>>

15 to 16 percent hold in blackjack?!?  They must have the world's worst players there.

I want to open a casino there.  Geez.

The players story that he hit three 7-bars and then super jackpot makes no sense. You have to hit the bonus spin symbol before the bonus is activated. Most of the ones I've played are the "U-Spin" machines where you touch the screen and drag to spin. Just don't hit three 7-bars and bam super jackpot.  :103-

I had a Bally's five reeler with bonus spin in top screen stop and repeat the bonus spin three times, going black each time. Freakiest thing I've ever seen. I knew something was wrong and finally the bonus stopped and payed me the 1000 credits, not 1000 times three that I saw. Turns out the door open switch was intermitently going off and on causing the machine to reset and play the bonus over. It happened again on a spin and played the spin several times, flagged down a slot tech and he opened/closed the door and cured the problem.
I could have been an idiot and said you owe me for those spins but it was obvious it was a malfunction. For some people it's just not that obvious.

Not to get too far off topic, but U-Spin Cash Spin is a slot available on the iPhone and I play the hell out of it!  I would probably sit at this one for a while in a casino.
