Any 2.6x is for the new colored $10 in the S+

2.61 was just the later revised version for "street quality" bills that always comes after first release

2.5x is New colored $50

2.4x was Nex Gen (Colored) $20

2.7x is New $5 in 003 (not available for S+)

Okay I emailed JCM to see what they had to say about the software.  They said that the software V2.70-11 does accept the next generation $5 (2006 Series) notes.  The current 5's (purple) are the 2006 series if I'm correct. They were designed in 2006 but not released till 2008.  JCM told me to either try partiot gaming (219-922-6400 Pat or Chad) or american gaming inc (702-798-5752 Debbie at Extension #2422)
I haven't tried either one yet.

You have not stated what Machine you are looking to upgrade, if you look a my previous post it clearly states the same thing JCM told you, however you still are not gong to get a 2.7x version for certain model machines, and just saying IGT is not enough either as there are different ID's on the DBV-200 SS, the 022/23 on the PE+/S+ was never upgraded in the DBV-200 SS past 2.6x (NG 10) but the 024 for Game Kings was and can take the new NG 5 with 2.7x

If you have 2.60 or 2.61 you are as new of a bill as you are going to accept in an S+ and by your previous post that is what you are working on

With a Hardware change (to WBA-12) you could be able to accept the New $5 in a S+ but would be several items needed and not worth it as you could buy a S-2000 if in that dire situation to take the new $5

here is the exact info if you want to see on software made for 022/23 DBV-200 SS (version S+/PE+ use)

http://www.jcmglobal.com/en/support/downloads/SoftwareInfo.aspx (http://www.jcmglobal.com/en/support/downloads/SoftwareInfo.aspx)

The upgrade chip for 2.6x is all over eBay and Similar stores, but just getting a 2.7x chip will not work it must be ID 022/23 for S+
