Hello all!

Well it's that time again and just over a month away!

Hey Stat, can I get my flack jacket in a size 3xlt ? Chicago isn't that bad, the kids beat on each other with railroad ties. But they only use small railroad ties.

When I was a kid, we used to climb around on the black CPR railroad bridge
crossing the Saint Lawrence river going into Montreal.
I never saw "small" railroad ties...LOL
however, there are smaller,  very heavy, metal pieces about 2-3 feet long with holes
in them that act as railroad tie "splices"...
maybe it was these things that they used in the attacks.

We only have large railroad ties in Canada.....

so many places to go and so little time, I would love to go to this, it would bring back memories of going to antique, and toy shows with may dad when I was small.  Unfortunately my time is booked up until Christmas.  I hope you all have a great time and take lots of pics.

Thanks,
Wayne

Now I don't feel bad, I thought I was the only one with the odd hobby combination of Knob Creek and Slots... :)  Well, slots is a newer hobby.  I did skip the MGS and instead traveled to Georgia for the "Silencer Shoot" this fall.  Spectacular.  It is moving to outside of Memphis for 2010.

Received a flyer for this event and am tempted, would love to meet everyone (I'm from WI) -- however the SO's birthday is Sunday so I am not sure if I will be granted leave.....

Hey guys, the email flyer states, "No Strollers Please!" so everyone be sure to walk through the show at a brisk pace; you wouldn't want to be thrown out for strolling. :5- :30-

Personally, I think that Tacman ought to use his glue traps to snag some cool slot machines :94- instead of bunnies this year.  :145-

:211-  :199-   :211- for those of us in the cheap seats. SF :31-

Hey haaswood, welcome to NG  :3- Its nice to meet another close neighbor, especially one with similar interests. If at all possible try and make it to the pre-meet of the Chicagoland show. The regional members you will meet there are all nice people and the benefit you will get from their expertise is immense! Remember good networking contacts are a must in the slot hobby!  :89-

 Dan (tacman)

Stat, but those bunnies are more stupid than mice! They purposely step on the gluetraps, its like they wanna be in the stew for dinner!  :97-

Dan,  I can relate to the "negotiations" on machines as I got beat out on one by R2-D-2-   :97-.  Thought I had the first interest in it but again the -- :56- :56- "Talks" these days.  If I had more time and was retired things would be very different here without a doubt in my mind.  Glad you got your creature glass intact as it should have been.  B.

Barry I didn't know there was another R2-D2 too.  I am picking up a slot at the show too and heading South. Just like there are about a halp dozen Ron's :72- We are ending up with the same nick names. Now what do we do, what do we do?  :97-

Ron,  R2-D2 (r273) ,  What do we do-Nothing I can do-- You have the "Golden Ticket".   You know I am just joking but I am a sore loser.  Everyone have a safe trip to/from the show and ENJOY all your new toys- You as well ron-(I hope it shocks you)--- :208- :208- :50- :50- :98-.   B.

Hello all!

Well tonight, preparing for my new machine I will be picking up on Saturday - I stopped at the local thrift store looking for a night stand to put the machine on.  I found one, only $4.99 - wohoo!  The finish is not the best, but for $5 bucks, if I find something better I can trash it.

BUT, they also had some slot chairs in like new condition!  Where they got these chairs from I have no idea - but you better believe I grabbed some as quick as I could.  They had 12 total - I bought 4 - I don't even have 4 machine to use them with, but I figure the collection would continue to grow and it would be nice to have matching chairs.  I'm even thinking of going back and getting some more.  Price was $40 a chair.

If anyone going to the Chicago show would like one of these, let me know and I can buy one for you from store and bring it with me to the show - your cost, $40 cash.

When I picked up yours, I got another one for myself - so that's 2 extra chairs I have for me.  I thought about buying the rest of them - they have 5 left...but $200 for 5 chairs I may never need/use...and the cost/pain to ship them would make it no fun for eBay.  It seems every person I sell a slot to is so cheap...I can't see them giving me $50 for chair...lol.  Still thinking about it though...

If anyone else wants one, let me know :)

Dan #2,  I was not implying that they were old chairs or I may have took it wrong.  Anyway I have identical chairs except some of mine in that style have a ring on bottom as well and some do not.  I got mine directly from WMS about 8-9 months ago so I know they are not old -Same goes for my themed igt chairs-2008 and 2009 models.  Other manufactures use these as well but I know for sure wms does.  Maybey the thrift store or good-will or whatever it was has some complete machines to go with them--- :97-.  I also have stumbled across some good deals at flea-markets/yard-sales from time-to-time.  About 2 years ago I bought about 30 sheets of glass at a fund-raiser bizzare event.  The mayor of the city was there when I bought them-A wof belly triple stars was on top of the pile---- :97-.  B.

Hello all!

I was not implying that they were old chairs or I may have took it wrong.

My post about the age of the chairs was not directed at you - I was just posting it for information for the buyers :)

Maybey the thrift store or good-will or whatever it was has some complete machines to go with them--- :97-.

They should have some machines with that many chairs!!!  I would like to know where the hell they got them....and so many??

I also have stumbled across some good deals at flea-markets/yard-sales from time-to-time.

Agreed - I almost always stop when I'm in the area...and this one is just on the edge of a nice area - so they will get good quality stuff, not just old junk.  I have gotten really good deals there - some stuff I keep for myself - some stuff I buy with the intention of re-selling it because they have it priced too low...

Do you have room to bring another chair for me, They look very nice. If you don't then i guess that I'm just too slow. But If you do I will take one too.

Macfog - I've got one set aside for you :)

Somehow I knew when I first saw these chairs I would end up buying them all.  So I went back to the thrift store tonight and bought the rest of the chairs...they were still all there...7 just tonight...and I got another nice end table for a TV stand for my father in-law for $9.99...I gotta stop going there!!  I think the employees thought I was crazy...

SO FAR...I have

2 for Railroad94
1 for macfog
2 for bondoexpress
2 for bunnyslots

Sorry - no more left... :(

Neat -- I played that pinball-like game (#124) at Paris Las Vegas years ago.  In the bonus round, the dot-matrix display divides up each column with a prize value, then a ball pops out of the top and plinkos its way down into one of the columns for your award.  The game then gives you the chance to win a higher award by gambling your current win on another ball drop game, with higher values in the columns, but then some of the columns turn into "lose everything."

I have signs that use to bring around $500.00 each now I see the cheap reproductions selling for $80.00 and that includes shipping from overseas
What use to a great American art form has turned into crap. I can't even find a decent artiest that can twist glass like the the guys from the earlier years.

It's a lost art form here in America.

to be seen anywhere.  Only antique parts, nothing newer.

Chicagoland Fall 2009 Friday parking lot (two parts).

K+ for the videos, Clay.  I got to "be there" without being there.  Nice assortment of stuff in the parking lot this year.

Had a great time at the show. It's always nice to get together with everyone; and the gathering at Mc Donalds seems to be getting larger each year.  My newest additions are a Williams Dotmation and a Bally Gamemaker.  I will be posting before and after pics of the Gamemaker as it needs a good cleaning   ... Thanks to  Tacman , Karaoke Mike ,Bunny slots and R273 for their generous gifts .   Bill

And thanks to Dan of Dansgames for all the help he gave me at my house

Ron,
I had no Idea what tacman was doing to your sign and machine, all he said was that he wanted to make sure your stuff worked when I delivered them. I asked Him what those extra  parts were in His hand and He assured me they were not needed.   :89- :89-
