At this point I have three 800 series Bally electromechanical slots, a Bally Gamemaker, an old mechanical that I picked up for $50, and a 13" Game King so I really don't need another slot machine... but... my wife has always liked Money Storm as do I so I'm thinking of an I-Game. Now that I've been acquiring slot machines and after reading this web site, I have come to realize the many different cabinet models and sizes that each company produced the different games in.
So my question to you good folks is... Which I-Game cabinet has the most versatility to change games and glass so I can essentially have a different slot machine whenever I want by changing the glass and program? Which board # 3902/044 and monitor size is best... I think you get the point.
Thanks, Hope I explained that well enough, Jim

Jim,

In my opinion the 17" chop top iGame has the best glass availabily. I have it and some 19" models, but don't expect to easily find any glass for the 19". The bigger monitor is nice though. If you can find one that is already set up as 044 I think it may be economical to buy it rather than convert from 3902 later. This gives you greater game availabilty as you can get a "adapter board" for the 044 MPU so that you can play 3902 games on it as well. Shop around, and check with our great dealers here for a great deal, quality, and service.

I am sure others will chime in with their opinions too! Just do it, you will like your new toy!

hissy fit   bust gut laughing  Beat me by 3 seconds Captain

Basically 3 cabinets to choose from.

17" Round top or flat top cabinet.  (most common)

19" Round top or flat top cabinet "Panda Cabinet".  (newer and becoming more available, very attractive and a big 19" screen)

19" Slant Top Cabinet  (least used for home use because of it's size/weight, however very comfortable to sit at).

Of the choices, if you plan to make game software changes and want matching glass, you will have the most luck with the 17" cabinet.

Great thanks. I'm thinking the 17" flat top at this point. What price for this with the 044 board would I be looking at?
Thanks, Jim

Pricing is going to be all over the place depending on the level of detail you want.  To us it comes down to 3 different levels or finish / quality listed below from most economical and on up.

"Wholesale" means you are getting the machine casino direct and purchased through a wholesaler.  We can sell you one at this level.  At this level you assume all the risk as the machine has not been turned on and likely has problems.  With the I-Games it is risky and be prepared for more investment $$$ after you get it home.  If I was to put percentages on primary parts that are typically bad I would say that 50% of the monitors we get in are bad, going bad, or having problems.  25% of the touch screens are scratched and have problems.  80% of the boards need new batteries.  20% of the software has problems.  20% has power supply problems.  10% of the boards have problems.  And 100% has aesthetic problems.

"Shopped working / Not Cleaned" means you are getting a machine, although at a higher price,  that all components have been tested working and replaced as necessary.  The machine will arrive fully working but typically with no warranty.  If it goes bad the next day it's your problem.  Also typically, at least for us, the machine gets a 5 minute vacuum and a quick wipe down on the exterior.  Expect aesthetic problems like bad chrome and cracked buttons.

"Detailed" means you are getting a machine with all that listed above and in addition to that you are getting many aesthetic parts replaced.  From us you get a 4 hour detailed cleaning where all primary parts are removed from the machine and cleaned.  The interior is hand washed twice to get the stink out.  The glass is removed and cleaned both sides.  The button bulbs are removed and replaced with new LED type bulbs.  Cracked button lens are replaced.  Proper button legends for your game is installed.  And for us, the top panel of the chrome button deck which is typically badly scratched is removed and replaced with a newly chromed one.  Finally, at least from us you get, a 1 year bumper to bumper warranty accept for the monitor which is 90 days.  Our policy on monitors as they are horrible to ship replacements is we give you a $100 credit to put towards a new LCD replacement monitor which we sell you at our wholesale price.

Slant tops are very seldom recommended for home use because of their SIZE/WEIGHT.  some things to consider:  once the machine is in place I doubt it is moved very often. with an upright you will need a base to put it on, and a chair in front of it. slant top, no base, just the chair. space requirement with the chair considered is not that much greater. If you strip it down to the cabinet, remove the monitor(45lbs) ,coin door(15lbs) ,top box(15 lbs/few screws) hopper, etc. the cabinet is not that hard to get around.

the biggest comparison would be the price. I-game upright maybe 1300/1700 range, slant top I-game maybe 650.00/1100 range

theI-game-044 1800/2100 range

I agree Jim.  Lots of posts on the site are anti-slant top but I really don't understand why other than the weight issue.  Size wise, they are about 28" wide, same as a base cabinet, and depth wise, once you add a chair, I doubt they take more than 6" additional in depth compared to an upright.  They are a lot more comfortable to sit at with the big cushy arm rest so your shoulders and arms don't fall off after 15 minutes of play.

Esthetically I'm a fan of the uprights and secondarily the bar-top machines. I'm also glad to hear that the 17" offers the most versatility. My 13" Game King with a 15" LCD is plenty big for my situation. I think a 19" might be a bit too big. Maybe I'm mistaken but a 17" should do the trick.
If I had a dedicated gameroom, a sit down machine may show up after a while but right now, I'm confined to wall space.
Thanks, Jim

Just another question about I-game machines,  if one is a 17" and one is a 19" does that pertain only to the monitor or is the actual cabinets also smaller/larger too ?  Are all the boards interchangeable too ?
Are all round top I-game glass the same size as other s2000's uprights ?     Scratch Head

Dan  19" cabinet is 2 inches wider than a 17" (upright)  I'm not sure but I don't think the glass will interchange from a S 2000 to a I Game.  All internal parts will fit both a 17" and a 19" upright.

I just compared a 19" Game King round top glass to a S 2000 round top,  S 2000 glass is about 1 1/8 inch taller.  Sorry I don't have any 17" Round Top I Games / Game Kings

If this helps here is a picture of a 17" and a 19" side by side.  The stand Catch A Wave is on is actually 2 1/2 inches taller than the Game King. The 19" is 4 3/4 inches taller than the 17"

Well it's just like me to put the cart before the horse.  I picked up this kit off ebay and its on the way so I really don't know what to expect.  Anyone who knows me , know I just had to take a chance.  You might have saw it on ebay a few days ago.  So now I need a complete cabinet for it.

I just love my 19" slant top I-Game/Game King machine doesn't take much more room and so much fun to play with all the games that are out there.
