Okay, perhaps we should dedicate a separate forum just for me and my Game King?   Tiny Violin

I turned it on this morning and began playing.  After about 15 minutes, I got message pop up,
"TOUCHSCREEN COMMUNICATION ERROR" and "BILL VALIDATOR COMMUNICATION ERROR".

 wtf1  wtf?

Sounds like Netplex issue, perhaps IO boards are faulty after all?
Please don't tell me I blew a chip on my new 3902 board already.

I know I have far exceeded requests for help on this  censored Game King.
May I please humbly beg for help again?
Or should I just throw the whole machine off the top of the Stratosphere?
(I've never actually been to the top of that casino - would give me a reason to go visit!)

 Sorry! Help

Sounds like new I/O cards may be headed your way after all! Its worth eliminating them, since you were suspect already.  Sherlock Smiley

Meanwhile, pull the current I/Os, check the pins, and firmly reseat cards and cables.

I'll get them out on Monday...if it turns out you don't need them, send them back...

Roslyn - YOU ARE THE BEST!  PM me shipping costs.  Thanks!

I removed IO, checked all molex plugs to ensure both male and female pins were on both ends of the plugs were good.
I also inspected where the board pushes into the motherboard to ensure all is good (no bent pins or crimped receptacles).
Finally, I looked over the IO boards with a magnifying glass and they look really good.
I plugged all back in, turned on, and still got same error.  Sigh!
Touchscreen doesn't work and turning key twice won't bring up calibration menu.
White test button doesn't do anything either.

I think there are roller coasters up on the Strat too, so I could make a day of it?

If you put your old MPU back in, does it throw up the same errors?

Thanks Jason.
I believe the old MPU is toast.  Lots of smoke, classic odor.
At best, U74 is fried and I'm out of replacements.
I could try, I suppose.  Is there any risk of burning something else if my old 3802 is bad?

A curiosity more than anything.  If the old board threw up the same errors, then I would think io's are problematic.

For grins, with your new board, did you clear the memory and E2 and start from scratch?

Dave  Couple of years ago I had a touch screen error I couldn't get rid of, so decided to make one machine out of two. After some hours discovered I was switching a bad mother board for a bad mother board. Both machines mother boards had exactly the same trace burn on both boards. I soldered in a jumper wire and as far as I know both machines are still working.

As Kenny Rogers once sang, "You've got to know when to fold them."

Many thanks to all who have helped, especially to CVSlots (Roslyn), for hanging in there helplessly to my harrowing hissy fits.

I am going to put it to rest and try the restaurant atop the Strat.  Uh, if you're in Vegas, look out below! rotflmao

Seriously, I'm going to get rid of it.  It's nothing but bad luck and you just can't have that in Vegas. no
Besides, I already got another one!  Woo-hoo! yes
Wish me luck on this new one!

I've spent a net of nearly $6,000 in the last 8 months since I started this hobby and I only have 4 machines in my possession, one of which is the Game King killer.  loser
Ugh!  I could have hit megabucks with that money!  How do y'all hang in there through this expensive hobby? Duh!
I just swore I'm walking away from this madness and I just spotted another machine I just can't live without.  Crazy
I think I'll start a new forum ... NLG-AA ... New Life Games Addiction Anonymous!  rotflmao
