What clear/key should we be using in an 044 GameKing with EPROM software? My notes show a Clear/Key 40, but it's not wanting to work?

It could be a bad EPROM/file, but we've checked that already. Checksums the same as backup file.

Key 28

Added ------>  I'm confused rereading your post.  Are you running a GK with 044 AVP conversion?  There should only be a Base chip on the board, the software is flashed to the daughter board.  So in that case a Key 28 is correct.  If you running an older 3902 GK board that uses a MM1 board and is entirely chip based software...Key 17 might be the best choice.

if you mean an 044 board with a legacy daughter board, then key 40 should work. but then again it would depend on what software you are running. if its older game king chipset then it could be key 17 0r even key 22. I think in theory what ever key chip you would use with an 039 board should be the one you use. as mentioned, key 28 is what you need for the gk with boot chip.

It is an 044 Board with a legacy board, not a flash board. I will get the numbers off the GME chips, but I do know it is older. Key 17 and Key 22 will key the machine, but we are needing to clear it.

We can key it, but need to clear it. Key 40s not doing the trick. I hear it may be due to the chipset that's in it.
