I have a older GK which came with a .05 hopper.I have changed required plates and knife and it spits quarters out great. My question is using key chip to set hopper to .25. I am leery about doing this unless it would not mess everything else up on board. Is there a certain thing i should be looking for in set up menu? Every time one of my family hits cash out it gives 20 quarters instead of nickles. It does not mater that i have told them not to touch cash out button.

I don't know about the key chip resetting a bunch of values but you could just disconnect one wire from the cashout button switch to disable it and that would prevent anyone was accidentally cashing out. The cashout buttons I've seen have slip-on/slip-off connectors and are fairly easy to deal with. Later if you decide to use the key chip you can always reconnect the wire to the switch. With that said, since you went to the trouble to convert the hopper over to quarters you probably want to finish the conversion by setting the machine to 25 cent denomination.

Ed  I know your about half scared of that clear/key chip so why not with zero credits on the machine, press the test button on the MPU, touch setup on the screen then I think machine options then find the credit limits and set hopper limits  to ZERO. Different games set up different ways and I know I had your board and game here, but I just don't remember exactly which game you have.  " CRS "

rokgpsman  The reason I'm saying to set the hopper limits is because there is a tab on the touch screen that will also CASH out even if the button is disabled.

Ed I'll call you tomorrow if I don't forget !!

Ed didn't key the machine I did, well sort-of, he sent me the board and game and I cleared and keyed it and sent it back along with the ee chip. I'm pretty sure it's a multi denom game so he won't be getting 20 credits for a dollar. But the hopper will pay out 20 coins per dollar credits that are on the machine.
