I was just shopping at 1000 Bulbs web sight for bulbs and starters and found they have a universal lamp starter for the 4 thru 30 watt bulbs. I'm use to having to buy the FS-2 and FS-5 starters for my Bally machines..  They now are offering a FS-U-120W that's covers them all.. I was just wondering if anyone as tried them yet?

Not sure if this is any help, I haven't tried one yet. But there is a super-seller on ebay that has sold over 300 similar universal starters and he has a great feedback rating, so it would seem they work ok for most people. Otherwise he'd either stop selling them or would have a lower feedback rating. I wonder if all these starters are made in China and just have different covers for whoever has them made over there.

Wow... They are sell for theirs for $1.29 compaired to .54c from 1000bulbs. Usually it's cheaper to buy them from China direct. It would be nice to only have to buy one type of starter.

Maybe the ebay seller is mainly selling to less-experienced people or people more comfortable buying on ebay due to the buyer protection policies. I saw some over on amazon.com also, so I guess this new universal type of starter is getting popular. Wonder why it took so long for someone to make one?

At these prices you can't get hurt by trying one to see how it works, if it is noisy or how long it lasts. If you do, report back your findings to us.
