Fruit machine my tail feathers !!

« on: September 23, 2010, 01:14:42 PM »

Good Morning

I am looking at my Ms. LGM Vision and thinking it needs more lights and feel a progressive display will do that.

What parts am I looking for? It is an older 1998 machine and I assume never had a progressive display installed.

Hi Dorothy,

I'm not sure if MS. LGM supports a progressive
maybe another member can confirm that here
anyway if that was the case you could always get a Mikohn progressive setup
and have a scrolling message thing going on.

Hello all!

Easiest and cheapest way to get a progressive display in a S2000/Vision is with an IGT Spectrum Display.  There is actually one on eBay right now for $40 + ship (you will also need a cable) - http://cgi.ebay.com/IGT-SPECTRUM-NETPLEX-SLOT-MACHINE-DISPLAY-/220667199796.  Mikon's are great and have more options available (scrolling messages, etc) - but they can be tricky to install/configure and costs start around $200 I believe for everything you need.

The biggest problem with a progressive display in an IGT machine is where to put it if your glass doesn't have a spot for it.  Check out this thread http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=762.0 to see where/how I installed mine.  You can also buy some toppers with progressive displays in them.

Stormrider - I am pretty new to this slot machine stuff and need some hand holding when doing things. As much as I like the idea of scrolling messages as well as the progressive amount, I think I'd better stay at the "Baby steps" mindset for now.

Dpalmi - Your excellent post was what inspired me to start thinking about this. You mentioned that the Vision needed an additional board, well more of a splitter. I'll go take a look at the Ebay offering.

Hello Dorothy!

If this is the machine you just added the bonus screen to the topbox then you will need a Netplex Distribution board in the topbox.  Both the bonus display and the Spectrum use Netplex - the Distribution board allows you to have multiple Netplex devices in the topbox.
