Good news for all you Bally 6000 owners.  I also have confirmed working boards with my setup.  I am just searching for the parts to be able to make the necessary cables to be able to supply these for the Bally 6000 owners out there that would need me to make the cable.

Think I have Alpha figured out . All I have to do is find 12 volt supply.

When you do have it tested and confirmed, if you can forward me any settings you need to set and everything that would be appreciated so I can add the bally alpha to the supported list.  I believe I have info on the 12V power.  I will look and post it if it is not here yet if I find it.

Proten - Aristocrat talks their propreitary protocol called ASP. You can however install a SPC2 board which will convert SAS to ASP.

I checked both of my Aristocrats and they both have the SPC2 board.
How would this hook in and do you think it would be hard to setup.

Great stuff - As far as I know the US sw versions require a keychip to change settings - If You have that it should be easy enough. For Comms we need TX,RX and Gnd which will come off the SPC2 board and will check where on the backplane we can get power from

Other than amounts for credit limits etc. had to change progressive from 4 to 5. Other than that you were right on.

I got this working with my Bally Alpha American Original last night.  There's 12VDC power available on the backplane, but I didn't have the right molex connectors . I had a 12VDC power adapter in my junk box, so I used that and plugged it into the switched AC outlet in the bottom of the machine.  Make sure the tip polarity is (+) positive.  I used a serial cable that Brian makes for IGT machines, and re-pinned the COM1 end of it as follows:

DB9             COM1
 1      GND       1
 3      TXD       3
 4      RXD       2

Here's where I installed it in the machine.  You can see the cable going to COM1 on the backplane, and the power adapter for it plugged in on the right.

And a youtube video of it working.  My accounting denomination must be 1c as pushing the change button gave me $10.00 (1000 credits).

A new update for all you WMS bluebird owners.  TITO @ home is now supported on the bluebird platform as well.  Communication cables for the bluebird will be the same cost as the IGT being $5 on top of the board price if you need one made for you.  The only thing I haven't had time to track down yet is the power I can tap into, but I am working on that now.

I have found a spare power supply location on the bluebird so now they are fully supported.
