I have a TOP2003 and Chinese knock off Willem.  I'm reading the same chip in both and get a slightly different checksum.

in the Top2003 I get:  17e3ddb
in the Willem I get:      0x3DDB

this is a 27c010 eprom, I've read several other chips and the first few digits don't match and the last 4 do match.

Not sure why you are getting the first digits different but it's the last 4 that count and they are identical.

The longer checksum is 32 bit, the shorter one is 16bit.  If you had an 8bit checksum it would only be the last two digits.
