What $$$ bill are you trying to get it to accept? Try a $1....

Also, how many credits are on your machine?

Did you happen to push the white reset button inside the machine before you were "pushing buttons"? If so, you may have gotten into the settings and changed something that disabled your bill validator.

If you do a search at the top of the home page here, you will find the info on how to re-activate your Bill Validator. The members here have spent many days, weeks, months, and, in many cases, YEARS contributing info, so I doubt the info you find here will "blow". If you cannot find the info by performing a search, then you can visit the Bill Validator (DBV-45, 145, 200) forum and/or look for similiar posts in the S-Plus Reel Games forum where you originally posted this post.

By the way, the info you find does apply to specific game themes (the game name on the glass and the reel strips) unless you are talking about game programs, which you are not. The info applies to the game platform as a whole, such as S-Plus, S2000, Vision, etc.

Good luck on your search and post back if you come up empty handed!

The only thing I can think of that could be changed in the menu to cause that, is changing the credit limit to 0.

It would help to know what SP chip you have. Use the link in the previous post to let us know.

You can not diectlly dissable ithe BV in self test. All you can do is change a limit that would reject the bill if it puts it over that limit (i.e. setting the credit limit to 0). If it were disabled, it would not even try to take the bill. I don't have a PSR for that SP chip, but with no credits on the machine, press the self test button until you have a 7 in the coins played and see what is dispayed. That is the credit limit and should not be 0.

This is assuming you have not done anything else to the machine.

Ok, so it's not the limits. Did you change anything else? Did you pull out the cash box or remove the transort?

Looking at the correct PSR, go back and press the self test butting until you have a 7 in the coins played. Then press it one more time (you should still have a 7 in the coins played). What is displayed?

Ok, that seems ok.

It is possible that your BV head just died or is dirty. Have you tried cleaning it and making sure nothing is stuck inside?

In case you don't know, here are some pictures on how to open the head and transport. Be sure to put the transport back in properly (see the link Buzz posted earlier for that).  Do not use alcohol to clean the head optics. But be sure the belts and rollers are clean. I use belt-ease (you can get it at walmart). If the transport is not grabbing the bill, it will reject it.
