It cant be the power supply. I have 3 power supplys. They all work in my BIG TIMES, none work in my RED/WHITE/BLUE  Scratch Head
I retract that........... they may be working, but the power isn't gettting where it's suppose to go.

Jim, it's not the end of the world  (that starts tomorrow)  If I don't get called up to heaven in the morning I will bring over a working machine in my truck and swap your glass and strips and get you a working machine.  So relax, watch some tv, have a beer, help is forth coming.

That's not funny Jim.   Well, yes it is, but I am not his brother guys. I just meet him a couple weeks back.
I was taught to respect the elderly , and Jim is about as elderly as they get, and I feel sorry his machine is down.
I have a responsibility to help him fix it , so then he will stop bugging the shit out of me about it.

Yeah, it's my Red White Blue again!
Last night I was playing it and decided to even out the credits when I quit. I hit bet 1, 2, 3 then hit the SPIN button not the BET MAX button and zzzzzztttttttt................

Been at it since then and I swapped out every thing it it with known good parts.
The last thing I did was just for kicks, I pulled the power cable off the motherboard while the power was on......... MY DOOR LIGHT CAME ON Scratch Head

I then proceeded ever so cautiously to plug the power cable back in with the light on and ZZZZZZTTTTT.......... again1 Scratch Head

Could it be a dead short somewhere????

HELP............. LOL

Pull all the connectors off the mother board. Power up and see what happens and plug them back in one at a time. Cycle power each time...do not plug them in live.

Sounds like what I had a few days ago. Took my meter board out and it was burned up pretty bad, got really hot. Root cause I think was a faulty player panel switch and it ended up wrecking one of my door IO boards and the meter board which I just bypassed to get rid of it. Seems like mine went bad when I pushed the service button to test the lighting. I thought it was just a coincidence at the time, but you mentioned having a problem with your max bet button. Scratch Head Try swapping all your IO boards out now. Maybe replace the max bet button first though

That sound like connector J8 Cab i/o senet connector. attached is two files. 3rd page on file 2 far right middle is the j-8 connector and its pin out. Find a working multi meter and you should be able to narrow it down.
Try putting all connectors back and unplug the cab i/o card leave it out and power up.

Do you have back lit reels??

If you do, plug the cab i/o card back in but leave the backlit reel harness unplugged from the front of the i/o card. See waht happens

well if you have changed the i/o with a known good one,  then it is something that i/o card powers. We have to look at the schematic and unplug each item one by one till it powers up. You just eliminated the reels and their lights.

I'm a little lost on all this but if you can get the machine back to the above point, (booted up with a error )  just lift and close the main door latch, wait 3 or 4 seconds and do it again, do this 5 or 6 times. This may not work and then again you may get a supprise !!

Open the door and press the test buttom on the MPU,  the display should say "accounting"  close the door and see if accounting changes to meter disconnected error. If it doesn't change, check your door optics.

Are you sure when you close the door you are getting the latch all the way down?

I just duplicated the error message { DOOR CLOSURE M - METER DISCONNECTED } on my BIG TIMES PAY merely by removing the I/O board from the MPU and booting the machine............
