Title: Converting tournament style slant top
Post by: electricdutchman on February 12, 2014, 12:09:14 AM
Hey guys, someone near me is selling "tournament style slant tops" for a great price. I'd like to pick one (or more up) but don't know how hard they are to convert to "standard" slant top machines. Apparently they are set up on a timer and are not able to accept coins. Can these be converted to take/cash out in tickets, accept bills/tickets and are there enough different conversion kits available to make these slant tops fun? Please any assistance/info/knowledge about this would be appreciated. They are single line/three reel slots. Thanks again!

It really depends on the make and model of the machine, but many can be converted to normal coin-in/coin-out machines, provided they were originally made for just that.  Without knowing what kind of machine they are, though, I can't say for certain.

Can you post a picture or two of the machines in question?  That would help to determine what kind of machine it is and to give you a more definite answer.  Of note, slant top machines are HEAVY and generally pretty bulky to move around.  While they tend to be more comfortable to play at, they're generally not too desirable for the home market due to their size and weight.
