First off I'm a newbie to the board, but can't seem to find much help out there. I currently own a Bally's 5500, I believe Black and White Slot Machine.  Just recently while playing the game did someone hit a 1000 quarters yet there weren't enough coins in the hopper.  I have tried to reset it and still get the same error code.  I get a 1000 then it flashes to hp. Any help would be awesome!!

Thanks  Help

Welcome to the site.
The HP stands for hand pay, you need to use the audit/jackpot reset key in the keyswitch on the right side of the machine.  Turn it, then continue to play.

Merry Christmas!
Thanks,
Wayne

Ok so this may be a stupid question, but I'm trying to fix this for my parents.  It is an acutal key hole?  They have 2 different key slots on the right side one to open the machine and they never received a key for the other key hole. Is this what you are talking about??

yes, it is.   You can open the door, pull out the cherry switch to pretend the door is open, and take a piece of wire to jump both wires from the switch, that should clear it.  Where are you located?  the key is 2341, common to almost all machines and is readily available from many vendors.

Thanks,
Wayne

The jackpot reset key is standard - and available from most of the dealers here.
