Hi people

i hope someone can help, i'm currently installing Casinolink in a casino in Africa.
The problem is they have S+ and PE+ machine on the floor and cannot seem to get machine comms to the SMIBS, is there any special harness which
i can build that connects to DCS???

I know that you have to tap V from J12 progressive port but still don"t get comms.

any help will be appreciated.

Hello DD and welcome to NLG

Always nice to see fellow Africa Techs here - Which casino you busy at ?
Not familiar with Casinolink -Thats Mikohn isnt it ?
What kind of signal levels does it expect from the machine (RS232 ?) and is SMIB powered frmo machine or dedicated power supply.
For IGT S2000 and I Game does it use comms off the backplane board or the comms box?. If from backplane board that harness should work on the S+ and PE+ since the DCS port is the same.
If the SMIB does not have a port specifically for DCS you will have to build a small voltage level converter board.

For S+ i would recommend SP1213 base and for PE+ XP000153. Have used both on cashlesss systems without any hassles (SIP and ACE)

Hi Ian

I'm currently installing in the Congo, yes it's almost similar to Mikohn.

Well in it uses RS 232 and that's where the problem comes in because the i games run off the comms box and "talks" RS 232 where the S+ and PE+ uses DCS. i have already tapped V+ from J12 pin 2 since it does not
have V on the DCS port(like the Igames).

As for the software, we are currently using the below mentioned software but without any luck.

On the SMIB it has a 15pin connector which has three cables attached, RX & TX & GND those cables run into the machine and onto the 10pin DCS connector.

But no luck with comms.

Have a look at this thread - http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?topic=11773.0.
Another member here (Poppo) reverse engineered the Official IGT DCS to RS232 converter board (Maybe if you are lucky your machines have them inside).

Hi,

I need a pinout of Casino Link SMIB 15 pin communications connector J03.
I need it to make RS232 communication betwen machine and SMIB.
I never use SMIB and not have any pinout for them.
Anyone have pinout?

Thanks.

Thank you. I already found this manual.
I found pin connection in this manual.
Connector J3 15 pin
2 - TX
3 - TX Opto Emitter
7 - RX

Friend send me pinout how they have connected and is on the same connector J3 15 pin:
2 - TX
3 - RX
7 or 8 - GND

With this connection work normally.
