Im sure this has been covered before but I dont even know the correct term to search for it.  Does anyone have a system set up where they are doing anything with the card slot where you would put a players club card? I thought it was called "player tracking" but after clicking on this Forum Category I now think player tracking must mean something like Ticket In Ticket Out systems.

I bought an s2000 machine that still had that piece between the speakers with a card slot, key pad, and display, and I was wondering if there is any kind of cool "home use" for it. Can you customize the message on the display? Actually award points for dollars played? Bring home a real card from the casinos and have your machine read the name on it, and display like "Welcome John" or what ever etc....

If this has been covered, please just point me in the direction of the correct termanology for it and I will go search some more.

Thanks!!

You can absolutely add the name of "your" casino to the ticket!!  yes  as far as awarding player club points, home users may be a bit removed front that just yet, unless REALLLLLY want to invest some time. See posts title "Homebrew TiTo" it's pretty involved...

Player tracking has not been figured out from what I can tell

I wonder if the Bally protocol in the S2000 is for player tracking or their version of SAS?

Thanks all,
Wayne, that is a very interesting thread. Good stuff.  I will probably try to locate a programmer and do something like that.  Now I just need to find a cheap programmer. Any suggestions?
