Title: Dick Clark's rocking eve vision
Post by: U.S.AutoService on June 21, 2013, 12:46:54 AM
Putting together a 5 reel vision Dick Clark's Rocking eve vision.

Picking up a part from here and a part from there, putting it in a working vision machine.
Here is where I am at right now.
I  97 chiped, all went well , then I used a  17 chip (also tried a 31 clear) and can't get past the red screen after ms verify, the cd spins up super fast and then the vision screen reads ....

Error some components are not found

working with software as listed below.         :103-

I did use the CD rom and vision screen/computer that came as a kit. it seems to be working
502 main board
SB000363
SG's are 380's
Version chip vs011gx1
top box has cd player with the Dick Clark cd, original
2 flash cards,
             side slot has ATA10053  , BGM00000 , BGM00125 , DATA
top slot has what looks like a blank flash card (checked it with my reader/writer)

I played the cd in my computer and it seems to work.

Did you try reversing the cards.  Top slot with game card, side slot leave empty.

Yes, when I reversed the cards it would not boot up the top box at all.  I tried that about 4 diffrent times to confirm it.  It will also not boot if I remove the blank one at all. So it must have something on it , or it needs it for something.  When I put that card in my reader it show nothing on it at all.

Later today going to try a fresh new CD , and then maybe swap the upper vision computer/screen don't have my hopes up, I think both are good already.

I will double check it this way again, I did a lot of combinations..

Also going to try and update the RFA file 10025 later today.

I don't know if a clear chip does anything for the top box CPU. You might try removing the CMOS battery from it for a few seconds and maybe run a cleaning disk through the CD player in case the laser lens is dirty and it's not reading well

         :3-

Well guys, the RFA file 10025 really helped.  I was able to get past the red screen and that error.  I then clear chiped (17) and set all the coin amounts and turned on the printer.  Still working out some bugs, but now I have

PROCOCAL MISMATCH    :103-       thought the SG 380's would work  .
going to do some research, it's been a long time since I did anything with my machines.  Now that its somewhat working I might do the chips again and take it slower through the setup steps.

Protocal mismatch usually means your SB chip and BGM files are not matched up as I recall.

My Stepper Base is Sb000363

Does that SB chip support my flash card files  ATA10053  , BGM00000 , BGM00125 , DATA ?

anyone have updates ?

Upgrade the ATA to ATA10065 if you have it.

From the 380 PSR:

LCD System
Driver The multi slave program is responsible for playing sounds and displaying information such as tilt messages and menu options. The label indicates the factory-installed ATA
SG000380
number and the bonus game modules (BGM). SG000380 requires ATA10065 (or their replacements).

I hope I can steal that file from one of my other vision games.  Will have to go see what I have in the mancave.  Will get back soon...

I'm a lot closer than I was this morning, after I upgraded to the ata10065 I now can boot up and get

BONUS GAME NOT SUPPORTED
So I must be doing some good, at least it is booting on its own. My guess is software conflict   :103-
Will try the older cd that I started out with just for kicks

UPDATE:  tried the cd , no help .
Noticed in the config that the bonus game is turned off , and I need a set chip to change it.
3 choices, off , legaency, and atf (not sure , machine is in the basement right now)
should I rechip and change it ?

After a good nights sleep, I started from scratch.
1st I again did a ram clear with my 97 ram clear chip.  2 yellow lights and moving on. Made it to the
part where I open the door after the initializing game and the top box screen turns red and now it says

   multi-slave : system error occured !
   Crash Type: misc error
   error initializing BGM game
   GG:0x0021   TT:0x000
   Bonus Game Not Supported

I assume my SB000363 does not support my BGM000125 or vise-versa.   :103-

Anyone reading have a up and running Dick Clark so we can compair notes and files ?   :99-

I am just guessing I have a bad DVD player now, looks like it is requesting a file off drive K:
I don't hear it spinning, but it is a diffrent DVD player, it powers up and ejects the DVD , also it is a diffrent DVD disc too.
tomorrow I will try one of the other dvd players, I now have 3

Anyone agree that drive K: is the dvd player
Crash Type: error

Dan , I hope this might help you on the Dick Clark New Years Vision Game: On a 45coin 5 Reel it uses SB00363\BGM00166 with CD00006. It Also uses RFA10028
Most of the vision Games use SG000341 + VS011Nx4(single Denom) or SG000380 +VS011NX5 (Multi Denom) and ATA10065,RFA10027 or RFA10028 (Games With Cd's)
Dick Clark Uses RFA10028 and ALL Other vision Games Use RFA10027
This is for NJ Jurs.
I hope this helps You Out.. John

Ok, I had to go to the Dr. office a few days ago, my BP was 228 /117 partially because of this Dick Clark

I now have 2 complete sets of glass
4 cd players
3 dick clark cd's  000004 and 000006
2 Stepper base chips sb00363
3 sets of game chips
4 version chips
3 sets of flash cards with diffrent version of files on them BGM00166 included
10 blank flash cards for testing ideas
1 flash drive reader/writer
2 sets of reel strips and 2 complete sets of reels
2 complete working toppers
and no where in this mess do I have a RFA10028 , I do have a RFA10025

Anyone have that file (RFA10028) correction, I must ask for the Original flash card with that file on it and wants to sell it ? I assume it goes on a flash card on the side of the lcd.
Right now it get to the point where the LCD says

unable to open k:\cd0000006\tvsize.avi (avi something) I know its there

Well have it up and running today  :244- (11/15/13) it was playing away for 5 minutes and then I got a coin-out jam.  I have to do some reserch now on that , and also I noticed only the max bet key spun the reels, all the other line and credit bet light are out and nothing happens when pushed.  But it was working... turns out I had 2 bad LCD's and 2 wrong cd disc'c and one bad dvd player.... had to steal some parts from a couple other working machines.

Will post more on this later...

:211- when you get it running again

It's running again, just can't find my camera.  I did a full clear and then found the limit settings and put it to the max, and now no more coin out jamb. Also I took the other 2 DVD players and installed them one at a time and confirmed BOTH are no good. I found that the DVD player from one of my old home computers would work just fine.  I installed the reel strips but found that the baskets are a little bit too big around for the strips to line up correctly. I would say over 3/4 of an inch over all.  I have a diffrent set of reels and strips ready to go but the deck is not the same and they will not work.  I can do some mods and make them work, don't know if it's worth it.
Still have the button issue, tried known good IO cards, did not help.
But its been playing great for over 2 hours now.

thank those who have helped out with ideas,

Have you checked for wire shorts on your buttons? Bad micro switch stuck closed? Or bent pins in the IO card socket?

Checked and double checked, but here is something, when I win anything and don't want to wait for the credits to slowly count up I can hit any of the non working line/bet keys and it will add all the credits all at once. So it is taking some kind of signal input from the keys, even though they do do function normally...

You might look at changing the player deck wire harness

You might look at changing the player deck wire harness

I switched all io cards and they work in the donor machine. I also check all the buttons and not are stuck.  This was a working machine before I changed the game kit, and I looked at the button harness and it looks on.  I also changed the power supply (the one the main power cord ) and no change.
I think it's something off the wall with the button problem.... :103-
