Title: Gamemaker monitor question
Post by: keystone9 on July 16, 2013, 04:39:14 PM
I am working on a Bally V9000 Alpha Gamemaker HD with a Tatung L20XX touch screen monitor. When I power up the game the monitor is a little distorted but after a few minutes it clears up fine. Sound like to me a weak cap but really not sure which one or if there is something else. Thanks in advance. Bill

Does that have the keno games on there? Is that an upright model? I am looking to get one with the keno games on there and I am looking for an upright one. Looks like a nice machine. Good Luck with it.

Check for bulged caps on the video driver board.

Is that board mounted on the monitor? Thanks.

Should be inside the monitor. You did say it was a 20" Tatung LCD?
Most of the Bally's that I've had are the Tovis monitors. I can check and see if I have the manual for yours if you post the complete part number.

Sorry, Maybe I should have said Model Number.
I know you said it was Tatung L20XX but do you have a complete model number?

Sorry, I don't have that manual.  :60-
But I do see the AD board listed on Slot Doctors web page.
http://slotdoctor.net/ADBOARDS.html (http://slotdoctor.net/ADBOARDS.html)

It's inside the back cover of the LCD screen where the input to the monitor attaches. I have not worked on this particular AD board, but most have 4 or 5 caps that are around 470 uF @16V
Check your board and look at those caps.

check the power supply (loaded)  lots of malfunctions trace back to weak power supply.

I am having the same problem with my game maker HD.  I have ordered a new AD board from Happ back order. it is now 6 weeks  waiting. I am also having problems with my sound. It seems the the top speakers do not work only the bottom.  I replaced the audio board but that did not correct the problem. I see there is a power amplifier could that be the problem.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

Game maker HD update. I finally received my new A/D board. After the new board was installed the monitor is distoration free. Make sure you solder the 2 pin connector on cn303 from the old board to the new board.  Be Carefull not to pull off the connector on the touch screen. I did that and the touch screen did not work. the new part # 2120124/ L20LA41M2W53A04.
