Title: Big Bang Piggy Bankin' issue
Post by: BR549 Auto Sales on June 21, 2013, 02:33:41 PM
I'm working on my first Williams slot and when I turn the game on I get the screen in the picture for a minute or so, then the dotmation screen goes blank and then that's it. I have a universal clear chip and a .25 clear chip that came with the machine. I checked the battery on the bottom board and it is fully charged. Will I need to do some type of clear procedure to get this game up and running? It has been sitting unplugged for quite a while. Sorry if this is a simple question but I know nothing about this type of slot.

Thanks,

David

Let's start with the basics...  With the unit on; open the cage door.  On the I/O board, you have 5  LED lights on the right and 1 on the left.  Are all of these on ?  ... A few on and a few off ?  If so ; what  ( specifically ) is on/off ?   Bill

The one on the far left is off
The 1st and the 5th LEDs are lit on the right side

Far left being off is good..... 2,3,4 on the right is a bad lower power supply....   You have 2 power supplies.  An upper inside of the Dotmation display box in the upper cabinet.  And the lower; locatedto the left of the hopper.  It's inside of the shoe box sized metal box  with the on/off button on it.  It's an easy fix and I have a lower PS If you're interested.  Others opt for the ATX power supply modification ( you can do a search on the site to see a few pics of how it is done)...  I , personally am not a fan of modifying ; others are.... your call.  Good luck, Bill

Ok, I got another power supply installed and the game is working now. I have a couple questions:

How do I enable the bill validator?

On the Big Bang Bonus round, after the round is over, rather than the credits won going to the credit meter, it drops the quarters to the hopper, can I make it go to the meter only?

Are there any sound setting changes that can be made, like from Legacy to enhanced on a S2000 machine.

I'm sure I will have more as I play this game, it is my first Williams game and I know nothing about them.

Thanks for steering me in the right direction to get the machine working Tollguy.

You might have to go into your settings and change your Hopper limit to get your wins to go to credit. I use 9999 and set my Partial to 0000. ( My preference)

You will also have to go into your settings and make sure Credit is On.

For your BV you may have to go to the 1,2,5 10,20,50 and 100 denominations and turn them On. You push the red button until you see a 1 in the credit window and an off or on in the winner paid window. Spin button turns them off and on. Use the Key to move to the other denominations.

Whats cool about Williams 40X is you can have credits on the machine to change settings....

When I get a winning payline the credits do go to the meter, is it because I had over 200 for a the total of the bonus round that it dumped the quarters?

Thanks for the info, I will go try the bill validator settings now.

Ok I went to the bill validator settings and the only ones that were off was the 50 and the 100 so I turned them on. When I turn the game on I am not hearing the BV cycle, I can look into it where the money goes and I see a couple red LEDs on inside, but it still will not pull a bill in.

I tried the search bar for Williams settings and or options and could not find anything, does someone have a list of the option settings on a Williams Big bang Piggy Bankin machine?

Thanks,

David

I just have  handwritten notes on all the settings with my preferences on them, not sure how helpful they would be to you.

Funny thing about a BV not working cause it could be as simple as a crappy connection up to a bad IO board. I had a BV that would not take bills that turned out to be a bad IO. Luckily I had an extra IO board with the correct jurisdiction on it to trade out. Do you have a DBV 200?

I would be asking Bill ( tollguy) for help on this, he's pretty knowledgeable on WMS 40Xs.

I got the BV working, the connector on the right side was not snug. I see in the options menu, SND 1, SND2, and SND3, are those areas where the sound can be changed or adjusted. I noticed that on the bonus round that the sound is a lot louder than the normal game sounds, I would like to lower that if I could.

Those are the sound adjustment. I have all mine set at 003, that is what is allowed by 'wife-law'.

Hey Dale ... I diagnosed the problem and offered to sell him a brand new lower PS.    He opted to search around and get one from someone else.  I'm sure he'll figure out the other issues.   Thanks for the compliment though.
