Newest addition to the family, RIP Bentley

« on: October 02, 2008, 12:24:20 AM »

I learned something new/differant today, so i thought i would share it.
I bought a WMS "Palace of Riches" today. NICE machine!
When we powered it up we got the "Game Disabled" on the LED displays.
I used the "Clear chip" to reset it, but it DID NOT show "CLR" on the display!
it took about 3 tries of this, THEN it cleared and gameplay was possible.

Trivial....yes....but it's enough to make you scratch your head....

Kirk, nice machine. I'm sure Clay is gonna give you a shout when he sees this. My question is at looking at the top box, is there a plastic shadowbox with seperate lights behind those coin numbers and game over displays? It seems the way it is set up the number of coins played would then be lit up on the top box as well or is it lighting up the bonus won, if it does in fact light up.

Thanks Dan,
yes, the topbox has a plastic shadowbox in it. Each lamp is addressable (they light in the lamp test). There is one behind each "Coin" and game over. In the bonus round the dotmation display moves left/right and stops on a column. It increments that column until it hits a game over.It awards that amount of coins and the multiplier varies per column.
I will pull it apart today and post the pictures of the topbox. The cable going to the top display is kinda small as the lamps are matrixed.

Kirk, just be careful cause those plastic shadowboxes get very brittle due to the heat and drying out. I would hate to have to piece together that many light sections ad hoc.

I have been looking for that Perfect Match glass (16" and the yellow belly) for years.  Where on earth did you get that machine?

I may need to borrow your glass when I'm in Vegas next to get it duplicated.   propeller

I think that Perfect Match is one of my favorite Dotmation games, but I've always been a game show junkie.

Very nice games!  Perfect Match and Jackpot Limbo are two
of the better dotmation games.

I have a line on a roundtop perfect match, but he wants $575 for
the machine (it is working and parts complete.) with this
economy i am very 'gun shy' to pay that much. (I'm having a
hard time selling dotmations here for $500.)  I currently have
a choptop 9" perfect match, so buying another just to get a
different cabinet style doesn't make a ton of sense to me.
