After about a year I got tired of Shopping Spree so I decided to put put my pig game back in.  I swapped out the mpu and put in the xu4 and xu3 chips in the top box.  When I turn the machine on I get the dot fail message even though it lights up and boots on power up.  I think I know the answer to this from reading the other threads.

Looks like the lower power supply right? OR Could it be my XU3 and XU4 chips?

I'm going to leave it on for a while and see if the error clears.

It's weird that the picture is rotated on NLG but not on my computer  Scratch Head   When I look at the photo it has the proper orientation.

I had that issue with a few machine a while back. One of them had a corrupt XU-10 chip in the dotmation box. It could also be one of the  other chips in that box. Another of mine had the dotmation supply fail.  I found a better replacement for this supply and purchased a lot of them.  I have sold quite a few.  The original dotmation supply suffers from to little amperage. Mine has more than enough, has a fan to cool it and only requires connecting your existing cables to the supply.  The only drawback is that it is about  1/2 inch too long to fit in the top dotmation box.
It fits perfectly where the player tracking would go, or in back of it. I have a few left to sell.  Hope you get your machine back up and going soon.

I'm going to check the chips in the top box and see where that leads me.

When I turn on my machine I see the Williams Logo on the Dotmatrix screen then nothing - blackness

Good news everyone!  It got it to work!   The problem was my XU10  -  I put the chip in that came with the pig set in and it worked!

The XU10 that I had in there was from Jackpot Party - I thought they were interchangeable but I guess not.
