Title: Bally 5500 board issues... Eprom issues?
Post by: AffordableSlots on November 09, 2010, 12:27:12 AM
:99-  I have 12 Bally 5500 slots and I have issues I cant figure out on a few of them, any help with any of these issues would be great....

One of my machines has no sound, I have checked the speakers and tried the mpu board in various machines.... still no sound. Does anyone know what chip controls the sound? I have parts boards and could swap the chips, I just don't know where to start. I have swapped a few chips with no luck. :103-

I Have another machine that always gives me a 54 code. I have made sure all the door switches are closed, no luck. This particular machine LOOKS like the drop door wires run to a plug near the bill acceptor area. The plug has 6 wires on it, and there is no place to plug it in. So it seems there are no wires that run to the back plane board. I have compared wiring from my other machines and it seems there are 3 wires missing on the plug that plugs into the back plane board. I need to somehow complete the circuit to get rid of the 54 error code. Does anyone have any ideas or a wiring diagram? :99-

Last but not least... I have a machine that gives me no display, and the board reset red led just blinks when powered on. I have put other boards in this machine and they work fine... But I have 4 spare boards I have that I am trying to make a good one out of. Does anyone have A chip description for the bally 5500 mpu boards?  I need to know what chip does what... A bally 5500 manual would be great, I cant find mine... the only ones I have found don't have the wiring diagram or mpu board chip settings etc.

Help from anyone would be appreciated. :71-
