Cadillac Jack Gold Touch monitor issue

I have a gold touch machine with what I think is a monitor issue. When I turn the machine on, the machine comes ready but the screen stays blank. If I power it down and restart the screen comes up and it can be played. Today I had the machine on for an extended period of time as relatives came over and played in the game room. The longer the machine stayed on the better the colors on the monitor looked. Is there something I need to get looked at to get the monitor working properly with the right colors from start-up?  :103-

There's so many models and makes of monitors...
Can you get the numbers off the back?
Model and make?

chuck300x11:
I loosened the monitor but could not figure out how to get it completely out of the machine. I could only see a serial number with a bar code CV5JO. On the right side of the machine is a small white box that says micro touch. The monitor is 21" diag.

stayouttadabunker:
That's the Micro Touch screen - a thin film that is placed on top of the monitor glass itself.

Check your power connections with the power off.
Just undo them and plug them back in....sometimes that helps get a better connection.
If you have some sort of a electronics cleaner and sprayed a little into the contacts points, that would be helpful too.
I'm hoping it's not a power supply issue or the ballast that lights up the monitor.
I'm going by what you're saying in that you have a "monitor".
Monitors usally have a circuit board with all sorts of electronic components soldered onto them
and usually the first things to go after time is the capacitors.

A picture of the back of this 21" monitor is worth a thousand words if you cannot get the model numbers.
How old is it? Where'd you get it at?
Can the dealer help you where you purchased it from?

That's pretty much all I can do to help you at the moment with what you've told me.
Maybe others can chime in with some helpful thoughts.
But flipping the power off and on will work only so many times until complete failure.

chuck300x11:
I will see if I can pull the whole chassis out of the machine to get pics. It is an older machine I believe from 1998 or so. The monitor is a beast. I found it on Craigslist so no dealer for me to go back to.
