Problem; No door open signal & no top monitor. Solution; Replaced U39 & tested. Problem; No video. Solution; Replaced U67 & tested. Problem; Wouldn't reset (no door closure), coin-in timeout Solution; Replaced U10 & tested. Solution; Replaced U38 (CAPROM)...this is located on the Fortune II Keno Slave Board. Problem; Some red all over the monitor, not marking properly (distorted?) Solution(1); Replaced U21, brought back normal raster (no red haze). Solution(2); Replaced U1, fixed marking problem. Problem; No picture. Solution; Replaced Q6 & tested. I have a Fortune II Draw Poker machine. It was a used machine from the pepermill casino a while back. Purchased in 94' but I'm not sure when it was made. The Serial number is 139327 Model: 1170-D The machine quit working about 4 years agao. The symptoms are as such. Sometimes when you first turn the machine on, all the cards will come up as face down and held like so.. (http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/1130/imgp0454uc8.jpg) There are two boards in this machine. I'm not sure what each one does but they are both removable and I have removed and cleaned the connecting pins with windex and a q-tip. At first I thought maybe the cmos battery was dead. I checked it with a meter and it read 3.56 Volts, which is within .04 volts of the specification on the battery sleeve. I have tried resetting the cmos by turning the machine off, removing the card, switching the switch to rset, then back to on, reinserting the card in the machine and turning it back on. These steps give the same errors repeadedly. These are the cards and the switch I am talking about, along with the fuses and test buttons. After a lot of tinkering I found that if you push the VEM test button while the machine is in this state, it resets everything on the screen to look as is it is all functioning properly. However as soon as you close the door and lock it up, the machine gives a yellow blinking light and a blank blue screen with "Call Attendant" as the only thing displayed like so... I do not know the nity-grity behind the chips on these boards but I am good with a soldering iron and a test meter. Any info or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Josh |
