al of the sudden today i got a general tilt error and when i power cycle the machine all three reels turn slowly at the point when the are supposed to just do the spin up

that did the trick thought i tried that but i think i was trying with door closed

You may also double check your door optics.I've had the plastic break that holds  the door optic gizmo's together.
Replaced it. It never has tilted again.
