Post by: Michael12667 on April 22, 2009, 03:58:01 AM
Hi guys!  I dont know much about slots, but I just picked up a Barcest Hit the Top... it's working, but I'm getting feedback static in the reel/coin speaker... when idle its showing a 64 code and in the win window on the top box its giving a c_01??? any clues on whats going on?  but like I said.. it still works???

  Thanks
 Michael

On the Buzz Sound....I would recommend reburning the game and reel prom chips to a faster proccessing eeprom.  On the 16meg boards that the Barcrest use...If the processor chip is slower than 120ms it tends to hum.  On the 64 tilt I would recommend checking the sound card in the upper unit barcrest game.

I have no idea what you just said..lol  I just plugged in my other barcrest "take your pick" and the speakers are doing the same thing?????  I  dont know what happened.... they wee woking fine before... whats also gots me is the 64 code.... with any other slot i've had in the past, if a code came up the machine wouldnt work until you fixed it. last night the top lights would turn off and the code came up.. i pushed the credit button a few times and it would work for a spin , then error again...  i turned it off and back on and it worked for about 10 spins and start the error code.. today it hasnt erored yet, but the speakes still have feedback..... i'm confussed.

and thanks again for any help you might share.... I dont know how to get into the top box??  I read somewhere that you have to program the volume?  theres not a knob for it?  is that the same for the attract mode..like how often or for how long?  didnt even know it had a mode like that..lol

If you remove the glass from the top section of the machine, your barcrest has a door that will open and let you get inside the top section, you will see a couple white set screws, I would loosen them.....the Barcrest game is a seperate unit-it will slide out and there is one molex plug in the back, I would just make sure it is completely seated.  On the Eeprom chip;which are located on the CPU board of the machine(the chips the game software is programmed on) they come in different processing speeds. To clear the constant hum or hiss....You should put a faster processing chip in place.  Any slot distributer should be able to assist you with that.
Good Luck

Thanks!  I dont know much about slots... and this was driving me crazy.lol  any other time i've had a code, the machine shuts down until its fixed. .. like a jammed coin or something...This machine still works for about 15-20 minutes then starts losing communication??  I turn the whole thing off for awhile and then it works fine again for about the same amount of time... now where to get the battery and which board is it?  is it in the metal box in the top half of the machine? theres lots of boards to choose from :^)

 Thanks again

  Michael

You have a battery which is nearly dead, that's why it works for a while and then gives you a "low battery" error.

Did you read all of the thread linked above?  Dave posted which board it was and the part number and vendor sources for the battery.   :71-

...and yes, it's in the top box of the machine.
