Hi folks,

I’m a newbie in the world of NeoGeo and a proud owner of a MVS-1A board. I want to consolize it. Therefore I want to convert this “frontloader” to a “toploader”.
For converting the machine I must align the main-board and the cartridge-board in one level, with splitting the boards at the connector area.



But…I don’t want to solder the connection wires on the boards directly. I want to use the same connectors like the actual ones on the MVS board.







Is someone there who knows the exactly name of these connectors left and right of the middle one?
The white 48-pin DIN-Connector is already on my stock, but the other make me ill. I’ve tried to use Hirose FX2 100-pin

and the Molex Ebbi 50D 100-pin connectors, but the mechanical code doesn’t fit.

The small “contactbridge” has a  2,3mm thickness on the MVS side, but the FX2 connector has 1,85mm, the Ebbi 50D connector, too.


(white connectors are the FX2 conncetors)

And that doesn’t fit, damn!

Is someone there who can help me in this case?

I’ve put the same question in the german Circuit-board forum and the microcontroller.net forum and the guys from the NeoGeo.com-forum (only the german area, because I don't get access to the international area???). Of course, they had good tips, but the goal wasn’t reached unfortunately. And Playmore SNK don’t answer me regarding this matter.

wish I had an easy answer. Back when I worked at SNK, we got all ours from the mother company...

But what you're meaning with "mother company"? Who was it?

I worked at the American division office in Torrance California for 5 years. The mother company would be SNK of Japan.  My previous job was 6 years at Romstar. Plenty of gaming in my blood Cheesy
