My Bally 6000 has been running flawlessly, until now!
I was watching TV and I saw out of the corner of my eye, the candle flashing. ODD, I thought... It's been running so good. I opened the door and pushed the reset button, then closed the door several times, trying to maybe clear some error codes, but no luck. Then I noticed the red light next to the reset button was flashing......
That is definately not usually a good sign.

I was puzzled...... I decide to do a quick clear to see if the flashing light would go away......NOPE!

I have been playing with a chip burner the last few weeks, so I decided to pull the personality chips out.

YEP...  The U18 had a leg folded over. It has been running flawlessy till now. Why would it run 2 weeks with a leg folded over,
and then all of a sudden decide to do bad things to me?  Silly Me!

Anyway, bottom line question is........... DID I FRY MY BOARD?

They are working chips. I made doubles of every chip I have, tested them in the machines and they all work great!

I can get you a checksum if you'd like. I don't know what they are suppose to be, I don't have a list.

It's good. I did another one, and it's up, not running yet , have to reset all the settings, but the board isn't fried. Have to get a list somewhere of all the checksums....

That wouldn't cause the red light to be on next to the reset buton would it?

I have no idea...I'm surprised it was working at all with a bent eprom leg!  rotflmao
You see...it died while it was running...usually we get all kinds of problems
when powering up a machine when it's been sitting in the dark for awhile.
The only other thing I can think of is something happened to a component that heated up.
Which one? I'll leave that up to the Bally experts.

Wasn't the board, LOL..  Crazy
Ordered a power supply..

This is EXACTLY the reason you need spare parts, for diagnostic purposes!!!!

Replaced the power supply, that wasn't it.
The red light next to the reset button flashes on one board and it stays lit on the other. Could something have possible fried my mains. I have the saferam mains.

I have replaced everything but the fuse box. It's kind of hard to tell if they reset, there isn't much movement in the buttons. One doesn't move at all tho. It moves side to side a little, but it doesn't move in and out at all.
