Bally Pro S6000 top led display for the progressive jackpot

Hello,

I just bought a Bally Pro S6000  Blazing 7's machine, and it had a top led display for the progressive jackpot. There is no wires running to the board, can I get this working??

It depends on what kind of display it is.

if it is a Mikohn then you likely need a ChamII+ board.

Can you post a picture of the back of it.

I took the LED out and the model# is ( MIKOHN Inc. CHAM2 12 CELL MINI REV. A #321-007-60) I have no cables or any thing that connects to this LED display. I thanks you for any help you can give me.

You need a ChamII+ board.
You can get these usually from Leeman Slot Sales - Contact April from the main page with the banners.

What you probably had in your machine was a ChamII (non plus) which is just a display driver run off of a CON2 link controller.
The CON2 links 32+ machines together into a progressive. This was likely stripped when they shopped out your machine. Either that or the casino kept it to be used in other machines.

The chamII+ is a standalone progressive designed for 1 machine.

In addition to the ChamII+ you will need a Rs232 serial cable to go between your PC and  the ChamII+ and a copy of the PSP software to program it.
PSP is a DOS program - XP usually works if you have a real serial port - You have very little hope with Vista.
Win 98 on a old PC is ideal.

You are bidding on 1 USED MIKOHN 2 INCH PROGRESSIVE LOGIC CONTROLLER BOARD AND POWER SUPPLY!! The board has the following label: 341-001-80B LINKER 00033338 (2). The eprom in the U2 has the following label: PRC V6.1 (c) 1989 MIKOHN CHECKSUM 0DCE. The eprom in the U4 has the following label: LINK 12c V7.15 (c)1989 MIKOHN CHECKSUM C19B. The power supply has the following label: 780-025-00 P/S, MINICHAM 00030358  (0).  Included with the auction is the ribbon cable for the meter, the power cord, and the wiring harness that runs from the power supply to the logic board to the meter. There is NO meter included with the auction. I do have a mini cham meter available in the other auction, but I am not sure that the software on this board will run the meter. There's two 14-pin plugs on the back of that display labeled J1 and P1 I believe.
If you are patient enough, tomorow I will see exactly how mine is hooked up and
I will take some detailed photos for you as far hooking them up.
For the life of me, I cannot remember if that display needs a "piggyback" board or not.
Some one may charm in tonight and help ya...if not,
I'll have a lot more information for you tomorrow from my other computer.
I think we're going to have to make an additional small harness for you so your meters can get information from the machine.
And a serial harness for the connection between the logic board and your computer.
It's not that hard to do. You'll need a pair of pliers. I'll make a pictorial showing you how to make the harness.
I'll try and get the numbers on the parts you'll and a place for you to get the parts from.
It looks like you have bought the power supply wire, the wires that go to the logic board, and the meters ribbon cable.

That is a LED5 (Cham 1). To drive this you need a CON1 controller.
Aprils Text Reads as this being a "linker" which requires the Link Controller to drive it.
In fact LED means Link Extension Device.

I had suggested you should get a ChamII+ (note the +) which is a standalone progressive controller.
The ChamII (no +) is also a linker and requires a CON2 controller

Con2s are about 3x as expensive as a Con1.

I should also point out that the display you have is just 1/2 of the display hardware AND it's the 1/2 you need to work with a ChamII+ (which is a good thing).  The LED board you have is for a chamI series 20 pin style interface.

On the complete ChamII Plus photo, you will notice the number of red and green leds.  There are a total of 9 leds, 5 reds and 4 greens.  There's a similar ChamII (not the Plus) board, which is not typically a stand-alone controller that only has 2 greeen and 2 red leds.  I say typically because we have seen proof of at least 1 ChamII stand-alone controller, but only 1 documented that we have seen.  So to be sure, I would recommend that you find yourself a ChamII Plus, like the one pictured here.

I Have a Setup that came out of a working Bally S6000 that I am willing to sell.
It says CSTLR  STND ALONE.
