I dont know where to start looking to solve this problem - I need some advice.
On my Megatouch Jade, occasionally the touchscreen will not work.  When that happens, I just restart the machine and all is OK.  Sometimes you can play the  game for hours with no problems, and some days it acts up after 15 - 20 minutes of play.  The wife and I play this machine every day and I would guess the problem pops up about 1 time a week.   I re-plugged the touchscreen controller and re-checked all the ground wires, any other ideas????

I remember a post about 2 years ago when someone had this problem.
It had to do with wearing wool socks on a carpeted floor and
rubbing a balloon on your head... arrow

I received an email from a well known member that thinks the problem might be this>>
I am quoting him from his email:

I am away for the holiday week .
ON NEW LIFE GAMES the post of intermittent touch screen on the JADE MERIT .
answer is -- the culprit is most likely the square 3M plug from touch screen glass--
going into the controller ivory color controller .
they get funky at times with heat and loose contact . --
if when it malfunctions tell him to pop the lid open WHILE MACHINE IS ON !!

touch  --THE TOUCH SCREEN ANYWHERE ??
look at green light on controller it should lighten and darken .
if green light is  out the plug is disconnected .
if its on tell him to lick his finger and try again .

calluses  cause crazy problem with men like me --
you perhaps that handle parts daily and create callus on
finger tips it wont let screen detect touch .

that should solve his problem -tell him to plastic tie the
square plug tight around 3m ivory controller so it has no chance to move .

hope your 4th was great!!

talk soon

Thanks to ALL for the FANTASTIC help.  I'll tear into that controller again and fasten that plug down with the plastic tie strap.
I'll keep you posted and let you know how things work out
Thanks Again

Don't forget to use DeOxit on the connectors, this will ensure a good connection!

Update.   I cleaned up pins on the Microtouch controller and strapped the plug in place. It worked fine for about a week then the same old lock-up happened again.  I dug thru my boxes of parts and found another controller and replaced the old one.  So far, no lock up but I do notice the touchscreen is not as sensitive.   Is there any way to adjust the sensitivity???  Is there any adjustment thru the Set Up menu button on the Megatouch Jade?
Thanks
