Title: Is $90 for the clear & set chips overpriced?
Post by: JJL0412 on October 27, 2012, 12:04:25 AM
This week, I was charged $90 for an S+ Clear & Set chip set. 7+ shipping. Was this a fair transaction? I am asking because I just saw the same thing for $13.95 w/free shipping. I found and joined NLG site 2 days ago and have been reading a lot here. I saw in threads where they sold for $20 or less and 1 post even offered a set free for a member to try to recover their system.

My system was locked in a 61 code and would not get passed it after I replaced the battery.  I contacted a company that showed up high in a slots repair search.  There site was very professional and I felt I had made a good choice in helping me recover my unit.  I knew nothing about the problem or solution.

Thanks to NLG, I am learning! I trusted I was doing a good thing with these folks.  I got the chips this week and got my unit up and running. I even called them back and ordered the grooved barrel that hold the light fixture of the Cashout button for $10 + 7+ shipping Tuesday. Should be here tomorrow. But now I am really wondering if $90 was reasonable or not. Please advise.  I am looking for more parts but now I am starting to wonder.

Sierra Silver, 2c, 9" top.

:wtf1-: $90 is not even close. I would not do business with that company anymore for charging you that much.
If you need any further parts there are many honest vendors on this site that you can order from. List your wants in the wanted section.

:55- :55- :55-  Oh my...I feel for you JJL0412, we all make mistakes. You did what you felt was right at the time with the knowledge you had at the time. Enough said.

In the future, you will know to check with some of the vendors here first for a price comparison before buying anything.  :89-

Sorry about your incident.

I have a request in the NLG classifieds for an SS4606 or 4607 Reel chip to replace the SS4609 in my unit. Can't seem to find anything but an SS4608.  Any Help?  Reasonable?

If you open your emails you will find out a SS4707 is waiting on your address.  Lets see how many beers can I buy with 45 bucks? Seeing how I don't drink and two beers will get me shitfaced    shame on you.

For $90 I would have driven them to his house, cleared his machine for him, bought him dinner and still given him  change...damn.  I bet he could get one of those $125.00 plus shipping splus mpus for a backup if he needs it too...from the same seller.
